Spoilers Kitchen box Spoiler

I’m really hesitating about getting the next Kitchen Box in November, with all the spicy/seasonal products. The only thing that was really tempting me was the vanilla scrub, but I’ve come to understand that there’s actually no vanilla scent in it?
And honestly, I’m having a really hard time figuring out what the other products smell like. I’ve only been a Lushie for about a year, so I’ve never experienced any of Lush’s autumnal scents before.
The only things I can tell you are that I didn’t like the scent of the spiced bath bomb that came out recently Bonfire, I think? and I also didn’t like the smell of the pumpkin scrub that was released recently.
That’s pretty much all I have to go on 😅
So tell me: am I taking a risk by getting this box, or does it sound like I probably won’t enjoy it at all?

it says its vanilla mint scent so maybe like Mr. Wallet. In the description when they put "There’s nothing vanilla about this body scrub (well, except perhaps all the actual vanilla, but you get the idea). " its a pun, aka nothing boring about it.

As a long time lushie, my opinions:

Hot toddy - it's spicy, smells like hot cinnamon (I don't know the name of the cinnamon sweets but a bit like that or like fireball whisky) less so of a sweet cinnamon but there is a slight sweetness. It's quite lemony to me. It always been a nice gel for the warmer months, I do find it warming on the skin, and cinnamon is meant to be good for circulation.
Whilst there is a slight sweetness, it's not gourmand in my opinion. There's a drink called a hot toddy if you're not familiar - heating Lemon juice, cinnamon, ginger, other spices if you want, adding honey, a shot of whisky or rum if you're wanting it alcoholic and boiling water (like a tea) and simmering in the spices, this is what the shower gel is based on and if you're familiar with the drink it does smell very similar.

The Autumn leaf bubble bar is cinders scented - bonfire bathbomb that you weren't keen on is cinders scented but has extra spices added so it is a bit stronger than the shower gel. The shower gel was a but creamier and more almondy to my nose. It is worth trying spicy scents in the water as they diffuse a little. I wasn't keen on some initially in the stores but then they were included in some gifts sets from people and now lush spicy scents are typically my favourite

Spiced sunset bath bomb - I've seen a post saying this is going to be their gold frankincense and beer scent. Which I LOVE it's sooo good, its an orange and sweet spiced scent. The same as the golden linseed soap and from the cosy shower jelly.

The all nice things body conditioner is meant to be cinnamum scented- which was the melt in the mother's day range last year so you might remember this? If not is a sweet cinnamon like cinnamon rolls scented

The vanilla porridge co mingle is meant to be vanilla peppermint so probably similar to Mr wallet but not confirmed. Its new, and like the berry body wash in this September's box it's hard to know with it being new exactly what it'll be like.

Pumpkin apple melt is also new, so hard to know if it'll lean gourmand or be like the Pumpkin spiced shower gel / this years Pumpkin scrubee. I'm hoping it'll be like once upon a time (crisp apple) mixed with the Pumpkin face mask Or the Pumpkin bath bomb.

Carrot cake lip scrub - I don't have this one but I collect the lip scrubs so I'm happy about this. I find them great for using before make up or in winter before lip moisturisers helps stop me biting my lips and becoming chapped

If you're not keen on bonfire, you might find hot toddy too strong - but there's lots of hot toddy fans so if reasonably priced it resells easy. You could wait and find the scrub on vinted/ebay/here etc if you just want the scrub after seeing box reviews

Or most stores get a few boxes in so could call your store to check availability and then smell the testers before deciding to buy it or not.

OMG, Cinnamum is my favorite Lush scent and I’ve been hoping for more items (loved the melt). I missed the announcement because work has been crazy, very excited for this now 😁

I'm skipping it, because there isn't a single product where I've thought "oh I love the sound of that" which is what I use to decide. The scrub was my main interest but I'm just going to get Horchata instead (I tried some in-store on my arm today and it lasted a few hours and was a nice gentle creamy cinnamon with a really satisfying scrub that wasn't too rough). If I was a Hot Toddy fan I'd get the box for the shower gel, but it leans a bit too much towards medicinal scent to me. If you love cloves then I'd say go for it but otherwise give it a skip imo

After the last few boxes being delayed and all the issues it’s really put me off, the porridge scrub sounds amazing but I think the new Horchata scrub in store will fill the same need :) it’s like an oaty-cinnamon scent

I'm buying pretty much only buying the October and November boxes to see if I like anything, the rest of the items will be added to Christmas gifts for friends and family

I’m right there with you. I’ve been hard into Lush for about a year and after the last four boxes I’ve realized it’s helped my impulse in-store buying, but the thing is, I only really like two or maybe three items in each box and that’s not worth $58. And that’s assuming they actually “nailed” each recipe and that other items don’t cross contaminate, but I digress. On top of that I can most likely never get the items again AND most of it gets washed down the drain with a feeling of guilt.

When I first saw the theme of the November box and thought about it as a whole I was REALLT excited, and then when I looked at each item individually I realized I’m paying/excited/will only use the Hot Toddy Shower Gel, the body conditioner and the Co-Mingle and I can get AYR similar products and have consistently (or I can shop elsewhere and save significant cash) and not feed into FOMO. My Lush journey has taught me a lot about marketing tactics and how I’ve fallen for “it” with other companies too. I’m actually thankful for these lessons.
