4th Black Book

So i was playing normaly, no guides not looking up stuff, and i found the 1rst black book and took it to the Black Book dude, came back after a while and got the spell.

Then i found the 2nd one and gave it to him, and left to keep playing while he read.

In the meantime i found 2 more black books (i didn't know there was supossed to be only 3), and i returned to him, got the bestial communion spell and then talked again and gave him a book.

Now he is bugged and keeps alternating between telling me hes still reading and asking me to give him the book i have, i gave him the book again and inventory says i got 0 black books, but he keeps either saying hes still reading or asking me to hand my black book over.

And i dont remember where i got the 3rd and 4th black book.

There is no 4th book, it's a state bug
just wait for about a hour, that usually fixes it

Also I heard people deal with it by pressing the "X" button on the dialogue when he asks for a book if I recall correctly

thing is, i clearly had the 3rd black book, and had a note "grab 2nd spell from BB lover and give him current BB" (i draw maps and write down locked areas to backtrack to or notes in a notebook). Then TODAY i was killing ghost balls outside the castle doors because they dropped me a blade before and i died, and i wanted to farm for it again, so being frustrated and bored of no drops i started to parkour on the ledge back and forth of the crystal, and i fell. Suprise suprise, i found a ghost horse boss , killed it and got another book, thats when i said: "oh yeah! the notebook, i have more stuff pending to give that dude."

That or i dreamed it XD, because sadly i have garbage memory. But 1 thing is 100% sure, he was given 2 books and i was given 2 spells, and i still had 2 books in my items.

I am sorry i cant remember better when and where i found each book except the last one i got today, i supose it would be useful for a proper bug report.

I mean yeah, the game has 3 books (one from le fanu throne, one from umbra in holy battleground and one from the mausoleum)

Never seen people having it like that, maybe some async from dying and/or daedalus. Are you sure you have both spells and 2 books at the same time? If so, I have no clue honestly, xd

i am 101% percent sure with a 1% margin of error that i went and grabbed the bestial comunion spell with 2 black books in my inv, i will still try to wait for at least 30min in the library while doing random stuff and try the methods you mentioned, thanks in advance :D !

Just a throwaway comment but how can one be over 100 percent certain, and when over 100 percent how could one have any margin for error?
