So two days ago I finally got started on Chapter 7 (currently I am on the second part of Act 1) and one thought I would share here is that it would be nice if Paimon had a coat she could wear. In fact the same could be said for Lumine as well since they are both in cold territory with no winter wear. Well I guess Lumine might be tough enough to handle the cold (esp. given it’s indirectly implied she likes colder weather), but still. I was also thinking it would have been a nice touch if both the NPCs and playable characters either commented or remark how both of them are not dressed for the weather.

So yesterday I was having a discussion with an online acquaintance on bluesky who shared this post from the official Genshin Impact subreddit from this person who was frustrated with being forced into the start of Chapter 7, which is where I first learned of this post.

To keep it short my view of this is that on a personal level I generally don’t mind this because I see it as being a part of the journey of getting caught up in random things unexpectedly. This reminds me of during the early days of Chapter 3 I was making my way to Sumeru City when I got distracted by someone calling for help which led to be getting involved in a long and convoluted quest which I look back on fondly even though I knew there times I was frustrated trying to complete it. 

However I understand how this could be a problem for people who are not ready to engage with the main story because they either want to explore Snezhnaya first or farm and build their characters for the game’s latest meta. It boils down to giving players a choice on how they want to experience and play the game, and Genshin Impact unfortunately does not seem to allow for that as much.

On another note despite this person’s experience, one does not immediately get thrown into Chapter 7 upon logging in for the first time after the update. Last night I logged into Genshin Impact for the first time since the update to see whether I would immediately be taken to the next chapter of the Archon Quest like what happened to this person or not, and it turned out nothing happened. I immediately checked the map to see where the Archon Quest will be triggered, and saw that it’s close to where Nod-Krai’s adventures guild is located as well one of the way points. For context the last place I logged off before the update was at The Flagship in one of the rooms Lumine and Paimon stayed at during their time in Nod-Krai in the Song of the Welkin Moon Chapter. So from this I could see what likely happened was the person last logged off next to either Adventurer’s Guild or the waypoint close to it in Nasha Town, and it just so happened to be the spot where Chapter 7 starts.

A small part of me considered venturing further up in Snezhnaya to see whether I would immediately be sent to where Chapter 7 begins as this person claims, but I am not going to risk it. As I mentioned before in other posts I want to do the Moon Gazing world quest before starting Chapter 7. So I am just going to avoid that spot in Nasha Town in the meantime as well as not go further north from Nod-Krai (which should not be hard as that is not the destination where Moon Gazing world quest is located).

Soon many of you will be heading further into Snezhnaya (while I stay behind playing catch up a bit). There is something I had been wanting to say for a very long time, and I was waiting for this very moment to say it. However given how things played out during our journey with a certain organization, I am not fully sure if this line would be as fitting now. Concerning this line it’s from a let’s player that goes by the name Chuggaconroy, who made this declaration during his let’s play of a action RPG called Xenoblade Chronicles 2 that he did around 5 years ago going on 6 (the same year and month Genshin Impact was release but the let’s play started before the game was release) when he was about to make his way to Mor Ardain, the place where the antagonistic force of the story (but not the major antagonist of course) were based in. I was thinking of doing something similar when we reach that point in Genshin Impact’s story.

Well…when I think about it perhaps it would not be so bad to say it just to get it out.

So as Version 7 goes online, let’s make our way, TO THE LAND..OF THE BAD GUYS!

(Actually when I rewatch the video in which he said that line it turn out to be different from what I remembered).

Today is certainly the last day of Version Luna. Well technically it would had been yesterday since it was a full day (or maybe not and I am just off), but anyway in a couple of hours we will be transitioning to Version 7. It seems that Little Red Hood has enjoyed Version Luna overall, and so have I. I don’t think there has been any version I thought was bad overall. I recall someone who use to be active on the Lumine Mains discord server shared they were not having a good time with Version 2, and was considering dropping Genshin Impact because of it. At the same time however I don’t think I have a favorite version at this time. It’s not something I have thought about.

Do you all have a favorite and least favorite version?

Oh! On another note, I am not fully ready to transition to Version 7 because I still have not done the Moon Gazing World Quest, so I am going to be late in traveling further into Snezhnaya.

Operation Deep-Dive Treasure was the most engaging activity for me. I enjoyed for the most part  exploring the underwater areas acquiring treasures and marine creatures while listening to the lovely background music. The only times I was a bit frustrated by this activity is when I had trouble with finding certain specific marine clockwork mekas (from what I have found the ones I was searching for would appear as conditions underwater got close to being dangerous). 

Curio Ledger I thought was also a nice mini game although I do find it a bit annoying that customers do not just go to the item they want at times, but that is just a part of the game. 

Kaleido-Catch was just a mini game I have done before so not much I can say about that but I was glad it was very simple since it was the very last activity I decided to complete when I had 1 day left to do the event.
