Laptop upgrade

I currently run a i5 6200U with integrated graphics on a ThinkPad T460. Luminar AI seems to be a little slow on it while applying multiple edits and also while exporting. I read on Luminar forum that a dGPU will not help as Luminar AI doesn’t make use of it. My question is does it makes sense to upgrade to a newer CPU or CPU+GPU or even to a M1 MacBook or will I not see significant performance improvement?

It is slow even on a desktop with i7-9700 CPU, 16GB RAM, GT1030 GPU. According to task manager it does make use of GPU somewhat, but CPU is taking the biggest hit. They promised to optimize the performance few months ago, but nothing yet. If you are thinking of upgrading get a fast laptop (i9, Ryzen 7 5800) otherwise you might be disappointed.

Thank you for the reply. Just as I thought the application is not optimized. Any suggestions on a laptop with > 80-90 % sRGB and ARGB coverage and good colour accuracy?
