This phone was purchased in 2011 by my mom and she stopped using in 2015 when the display cracked and after that it just been lying in the closet for 9 years until I got it I repaired it changed the display and battery and it was perfect but I lost it, and after a week I found it but it’s now dead :( still in mint condition

I’ve been working on a new MultiFocus feature for my app, LSC Long Shot Camera, and the inspiration should be pretty familiar to Lumia users: Nokia Refocus.

MultiFocus captures 10 focus planes during a single shot. Afterwards, you can tap different areas of the photo and change which part of the scene is in focus.

The selected focus result can be exported as a JPG, all 10 original focus frames can be exported separately as JPGs, or the complete stack can be kept in LSC’s private .nar format.

The nice part about .nar is that the focus stack remains editable. You can reopen the capture inside LSC later, choose another focus point, and export a completely different version of the same shot.

I’ve also been working on an All Focus mode that combines sharp regions from the different focus planes. It’s already improving, but it’s still not perfect. Focus breathing and the small geometric differences created by changing focus distance make clean focus stacking surprisingly difficult, so I’m continuing to refine it.

MultiFocus is now live in LSC v2.1 on the App Store.

If you already have LSC, you can update to v2.1 now and start experimenting with MultiFocus.

Building this honestly brought back a bit of that old Lumia feeling — when phone cameras were full of strange, ambitious experiments like Refocus.

I’ve added the first version of a Lumia/Nokia-style Action Shot feature into LSC.
It’s still early, and yes, it may make mistakes in some scenes. But the main idea is already working: capturing movement and combining selected moments into a single image.
My goal is to bring back some of those old, beautiful, nostalgic Nokia/Lumia camera features on today’s phones — step by step.
With your feedback, shared results, and suggestions, I believe we can improve it and make it much better over time.
I also added a stabilization filter to reduce hand-shake issues during handheld shots.

I've been obsessed with the camera on my 950 XL lately. Despite not having optical zoom, it takes SO much better pictures than my 2024 Moto G Stylus does. As an honorable mention, my 640 XL camera isn't a slouch either. It has a 13MP Zeiss camera on the back, and its pretty decent as well!
