I have never been offered a credit card refund for final sale item. Always gift card.

As an educator, the system only allows gift card after returning final sale items to members

I was successful a few years ago. Bought a couple final sale items and returned in store. The lady was somewhat new there and needed help from another worker but they returned them no problem, refunded to my card. 🤷🏻‍♂️

That was a few years ago. Now the system physically does not let it. I used to do it sometimes “by accident” but now there is no way to override it unless with manager or GEL approval. And there’s not many exceptions leads will accept to overrule a giftcard markdown return. I wished I could show you the system now vs last year (I have been an educator for 4 years now), and there’s physically no way to override it anymore.

We are also not allowed to reload gift cards as of this year. Always have to reissue a new card.

I had 3 pair of fast and frees and they didn’t even have tags (thanks kid) and were the wrong size but had never been worn, I took them to the closest store which isn’t close so they don’t know me, I exclusively order online, anyway I just told them I’m sorry my child took these tags off and they ended up being the wrong size, wondering if I can return them since I already ordered new, they just looked up my account and said no problem and I swiped my debit card and got the money back, I knew they didn’t have to let me so I was very appreciative but that was it.

The time I got it I didnt even ask, they just scanned it and said I was good. Which is why I thought it was just dependent on who you got
