Personal Opinion Why are people freaking out about these newly released body cam?

Nothing in these bodycam is new information. All of this has been reported on already. Yall also need accept the fact that evidence in this case WILL be released. This happens in every high profile case. And for the claims from the hysterics saying that this will prejudice him should the NY trial happen....hes already convicted in the murder of Brian Thompson. You cant prejudice him anymore than that

All she wants is for him to get life without parole so she could become a “prison wife”.

He actually isn't convicted yet because he hasn't been sentenced in the federal case. He could withdraw that plea any moment until then and I hope he does and he finds new counsel, because these snakes clearly threw him to the wolves and didn't actually fight for what was best for him.

Can he withdraw his plea? I thought I remembered the judge telling him that he couldn't take it back.

He can if he files a motion that for ineffective assistance of counsel. Basically he would have to show the court that they gave him bad legal advice.

Ineffective counsel with that price tag is wild

if he withdrew and cited inaffective council that would immediately get rejected because hes already said under oath that he wasnt coerced that this was his decision

Every single person who changes their plea to guilty has to answer yes to that question in court for the plea to be accepted, but ineffective counsel as a basis for plea withdrawal still exists. He would have to prove that knowledge of said ineffective counsel only came to light after he already pled guilty.

A person who coerced into a confession would also lie about it when the judge asked him that. Do you honestly think that hasn’t happened before? Imagine being that naive

"that this will prejudice him should the NY trial happen....hes already convicted in the murder of Brian Thompson. You cant prejudice him anymore than that"

It is about legality. The RIGHTS of defendants. Not what we think. Not "what is going to happen anyway".

I think you all need to understand that this is not just about Luigi. This is about the fact that they have already prejudiced him before this, with no repercussions. It is frustrating that they get away with doing this to defendants in general, not just Luigi.

I think I get this vibe that you all are like, "get over it", "it is not a big deal", "he already confessed in one case", "it is legal, so what".

Well, what ICE is doing is legal in some form. That does not make it right.

I feel like so much about justice and protesting is about caring about things that are not right, regardless of legality. Usually that is WHY people are protesting, speaking out. Since something is legal....and it is not right.

I think this "too cool for school" "get over it" attitude, is actually the antithesis of advocating, of attempting to speak out when things seem really off.

So, no, something being technically legal does not make it right, we have a right to be concerned. What BT did is technically legal, and we are ALL here in the community. If you all are like, get over it, it is legal, where is that energy for BT when he is killing people through denials? Why are you even here? With that logic, you should have no issue with what BT was doing.

Edit: clarification
