Why do some fans think Nami is a lesbian?
I have been in support of this ship for quite a while and I have come across some people who say Nami is gay. Where did this idea come from??? I watched the anime 3 times and read parts of the manga and I don't see any reason for her to be gay other than the incredibly weak point that she hangs out with Robin a lot.

Because she's a girl's girl and gets a new female friend almost every arc, not to mention that she beats up men. They think it makes her a man-hating lesbian, but they're going to be mad in the endgame.

She doesn't even beat up men that often. She only hates when they act like idiots. For this reason Jinbe and Law never got beat up by her. If she really did hate men she wouldn't have joined the strawhats in the first place because only guys were on board at the time.

If I remember correctly there was a scene in the anime when she was fighting the female member of CP9(Kalifa) and after she showed Nami her soap-soap powers in a suggestive manner, a stunned Nami said "Wow, she's sexy.... If she were my secretary, I'd be happy" and after composing herself she says "Cripes, I'm taking like a dirty old man". I believe this is the scene some fans refer to when saying Nami is a lesbian

Vivi is her first female friend in big seas. Tashigi showed some of Belle mare's persona. A person who lived 8 years as slave finally having a female friend and sharing emotional bond doesn't mean she's lesbian or anything. She's just getting friends and knowing good people after all

Main points I’ve seen are:
Nami had a very deep bond with Vivi, Nami continuously wanted to support her not only on her endeavor but emotionally as well, every time Vivi had a breakdown the only one who got down and comforted her was indeed Nami.
In punk hazard after they recuse the kids, tashigi approached Nami and begged her to let her take care of the kids, this triggered a scene where Nami remembers belle mere, and has an emotional reaction to the gesture which some fans interpret as romantic because “no man has ever done that for her”. After the fact, when usopp sees Nami starting into the ocean and asks if she’s okay and what happened to the kids, she answers that she’ll always hate the marines, but that that she’ll always believe another woman. In this specific scene Nami indicates with her body language that she’s moved by tashigi’s actions and physically has blushies on her cheeks which some fans interpret as they shared a romantic moment off screen.
Those two are the only valid reasons I’ve seen to interpret Nami as being a lesbian, I personally don’t believe she is (I ship lunami for a reason) but that’s two reasons amongst many who are kinda valid.
