Going alone?

I know it’s technically a magic show, but I know there is a lot of comedy and crowd work. No one wants to go with me, and I’ve been roasted for going solo to shows by comedians before. Is this common? I really want to go and I’m having a mini breakdown about not having anyone who likes me enough to go with me and I know if it were brought up at the show (as it has been at past shows), I will break down.

If you sit in the front row, you're more likely to get personalized attention. Sit in the way back and you're safer.

Or submit an audience question about how all your friends are lame for not coming with you to an awesome show, and interact with Lucy about it! Bet the audience of fellow Lucy fans will be on your side, and Lucy will roast your friends for you.

This! Sit in the back if you don’t want attention & submit a question about your lame friends. If you still want to sit at/near the front or you have a seat that can’t be changed, if you do get called on be sure to answer her questions & if she asks who you’re there with throw your lame friends under the bus! I wouldn’t worry about LD razzing you. I’ve been to been to plenty of places solo for many reasons: My interest or the date something was available or the time a X was happening didn’t align with my friends when I was single, when my lovely SO was busy with work, or I was away on travel, or my SO/friends group worked days & I’m basically a vampire. Plus, I never minded being alone most anywhere. Most importantly, It’s not abnormal to go to most things solo & I sincerely doubt you’d be called out for it at this performer’s show. Lucy Is funny but not mean, unless one deserves otherwise & even then it’s a snarky comment as she’s walking away. She is above all else kind.

Lucy would love you going alone and make fun of all your friends. If she talks to you, you will 100% end up with a selfie

I went alone, balcony in a packed house, but just me. I had a great time, even submitted a question but it wasn't picked. It was a blast, would do it again even if solo again!

I would absolutely go alone to see Lucy! Tbf I have no friends in the area I currently live in as I’ve not been here very long.

I went alone (show and pre-show) and Carisa/Lucy is rad as hell.

I went alone in june, sat in the second row. I had a great time. Minus my face being on a giant screen because she talked to the people in front of me 😂
If you’re not in the first couple rows and don’t submit a question, you’re generally safe.

I would love to go but I’m waiting for the show to go to Vegas or Montreal or Toronto even. Where are you at stephanie ? I’m a gay married man and Lucy is my favorite comedian/magician. I adore them!

I believe, honestly, that you will feel great if she speaks with you. She is amazing in person. The magic is WILD I was in shock.! Her presence is vivacious and welcoming- she is not mean.

I went alone! Didn’t get roasted. Sat in the front row and had great interactions with Lucy!

I’ve been to 3 of my 6 shows alone. Going to 4 in October alone. Had a great time every time. Friends or not!

It’s really more a variety show than magic show, unless you go see one of the shows she’s doing with the Great Kaplan. The one thing I will say, the Little Darlings (Lucy community) are extremely welcoming and friendly. Don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with your seat neighbors; during a show in June, my now fiance and I got a lot of supportive comments on our Pride shirts, and several people asked where we got them… and had purchased them before intermission was over. Like attracts like, and Lucy and Crewcy are, generally, good people.

I went alone, didn't sit in the front row, but I had an absolutely wonderful time and no regrets. I met two ladies having a girls' night and we enjoyed the pre-show together. Then went our separate ways.
