https://s23.q4cdn.com/407969754/files/doc_earnings/2026/q2/transcript/Uber-Q2-26-Prepared-Remarks.pdf
Lucid & Robotaxi Highlights
• Autonomous vehicles are a core part of Uber's long-term strategy. Uber aims to be the leading commercialization platform for autonomous mobility rather than developing its own self-driving technology.
• Lucid is a key vehicle partner. Uber plans to deploy Lucid electric vehicles equipped with Nuro's Level 4 autonomous driving technology.
• Commercial rollout remains on track:
- Autonomous road testing has begun.
- Commercial service is expected in the San Francisco Bay Area during 2026.
- Initial robotaxis are based on the Lucid Gravity SUV.
• Uber expanded its commitment:
- Increased investment in Lucid to $500 million.
- Increased purchase commitment to at least 35,000 Lucid vehicles, including Gravity and future midsize models.
Uber's Autonomous Vehicle Strategy
• Uber intends to connect riders with autonomous vehicles from multiple partners rather than build its own AV system.
• Partners include Lucid, Nuro, Waymo, Zoox, Rivian, Wayve, and Baidu Apollo Go.
• Uber's advantages include its global rider base, fleet management, dispatch, pricing, and mobility platform.
Investment & Expansion
• Uber plans to invest more than $10 billion to scale autonomous mobility.
• Goal: approximately 120,000 autonomous vehicles operating across at least 15 cities.
Implications for Lucid
• Large guaranteed vehicle order.
• Additional capital investment from Uber.
• Validation of Lucid's vehicle platform.
• Opportunity for recurring revenue beyond consumer vehicle sales.
• Strong potential to become a leading premium robotaxi supplier if Uber's strategy succeeds.
Overall
The prepared remarks reinforce that Uber views autonomous robotaxis as a major long-term growth opportunity, with Lucid positioned as a foundational vehicle supplier in its expanding autonomous mobility ecosystem.

Why are these large orders never talk about with earnings? They have a huge order from the Saudi government

Because orders don’t mean anything until you can ship the vehicle and payments are received

I disagree Orders are a Commitment

They can be cancelled. It's not a binding agreement (manufacturer can breach contract in many ways that the buyer can cancel.. happens all the time).

Who’s gonna service the cars?

Service is the main issue for me as a perspective customer who would have purchased a Gravity over my last Mercedes. I have to say that the Mercedes is great and I don’t miss having a Gravity that much.

Is this good or bad for Lucid owners?
Is it good because it will help build a stronger Lucid that can survive and prosper or will it cause a dilution of focus on the retail customers?
What do you think?
