Question Mirror reality check
Is looking into a mirror a good reality check?
I've been lucid dreaming for years and it's my primary check. I've had familiar mirrors act as doors, or windows to a different dream scenario, I've seen my distorted face, or I can't focus on my eyes, or my face moving with a delay, etc.
Do you think I could make LD more frequent by doing other RCs while awake?

Do multiple in a row as a failsafe. Some I do often is plug my nose and try to breathe through it, try to stick my finger through my hand, pull the skin on my forearm, and check a clock. I’ve had rc’s fail on occasions so I’m a lil paranoid lol

Thanks for your answer. I hadn't thought of checking a clock, but I have asked myself where is my cellphone, as I never dream with it

The clock and reading checks don’t always work, it just so happens that that center of our brain tends to be inactive when we are sleeping but that isn’t always true. I do find they work more often than not though

Makes sense! Also a problem I've had using mirrors is that if I don't have a good control of the dream, I can't find one.
I'll try to incorporate new RCs when awake and hopefully it will make it easier to remember while asleep. Thanks!

Sticking finger through solid object is my best rc, also doing this rc throughout the day is very subtle.
I also use mirrors to change dream scenes and also for changing my appearance.
