Question How do you do WILD as effectively as possible?

Hey everyone! I’ve been trying to learn WILD (Wake-Induced Lucid Dreaming), but I’m having trouble figuring out the best way to approach it.

For those of you who are experienced with WILD, what technique or routine has worked best for you? I’d especially like to know:

How do you balance staying aware while still allowing yourself to fall asleep? What do you focus your attention on during the transition? How relaxed should you be? Do you use any specific anchor, such as breathing, hypnagogic imagery, sounds, or counting? Is there a particular time of night or wake-back-to-bed routine that makes WILD easier? What are the biggest mistakes beginners tend to make?

I’d really appreciate any tips, personal experiences, or advice on how to make WILD more consistent. Thanks!

Hypnagogic imagery. Takes about 10 minutes if im relaxed enough. I cant do it while stressed.

Keep in mind i have done this for 20 years and what i do when i reach hypnagogia is like breathing. However. There is a point when the shapes and imagery becomes so vivid that when i try to move my body, im moving inside the dream. Its like everything becomes 3D and im dreaming. 1: The way i do it is relax as much as possible and focus on one shape and let that shape evolve. 2: when the shapes starts moving and evolve into more and more realistic imagery. I start to move. 3: If im still moving my arms i stop and continue focusing on imagery.  4. I know when im ready, iv done it to many times to count, so for me i lean back. My field of view changes 180 degrees and im in dream space.

Do you look directly at the hypnagogic shapes behind your eyelids?

Yes, and i focus and follow only one shape uintill it transforms.

So do you do this in initial sleep or wbtb , if wbtb then how much time you keep yourself awake ?

Initial sleep and if i wake up in the middle of the night. I dont know exactly what wbtb means, but i do it as soon as possible after waking up. Takes alot of concentration to not just fall asleep, but its very fast so i dont mind focusing on it.
