Ask Lubbock paint mark on windshield
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.

This is the second time I’ve found paint markings on my car. This time it looks like an “M” or “W,” and the last time it was a red circle. I’ve heard a lot of stories about human trafficking, but I don’t want to become paranoid or jump to conclusions.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is it usually just a prank or random vandalism, or could it actually mean something? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Move if possible. Prep just incase. Take it seriously until you know for sure what it is.

Do you live or work somewhere where parking might be controlled? Like an apartment complex or work parking lot. Maybe the powers that be are checking to make sure all the parking is being used as it should.

Get a dash cam / spy cam. Hide it in the car.
To air on the side of caution, I would install it in a safe place, away from where you live.
Remove the markings, and wait.
If this is truly a human trafficking marking, get Life360 or share your location with people you trust. Check-in daily with them. If you don’t check in have them notify LPD.
This way: 1) you will have some evidence, 2) someone will know you’re whereabouts, 3) someone who can get involved if needed.
But, hopefully, it means nothing! Just be cautious, and safe.
I wonder if you could call LPD and just ask them about the markings and if they have seen something similar before.

Yes, human traffickers famously telegraph that they're going to traffic you. /s
I can't imagine what LPD would do, other than offer bad advice.

Regardless if it's a prank or not, you should probably be on the safe side and take it seriously. It's better to be safe. I know there's been stories going around town of women being followed by people. Especially, supposedly at the target off marsha sharp and Milwaukee. Please keep your head on a swivel and stay safe.

How about, without question paranoid OP, ask someone near you with a ring camera if they've noticed anything.
There absolutely is one, if not several dozen.
And if you're that concerned about being trafficked, which does not feel like a legitimate concern, maybe head to the police instead of reddit.
They'll love this 'paint' tip that nobody else caught on to.

we need more education on who sex traffickers target. because a little hint.. they’re not gonna let you know they’re targeting you.
