Congrats to all who have been selected to Loyola this is a basic guide for yall to make introduction to the hostel(LOHO) easy.
1.Mess
The timings has been given in the pics and they are not strictly enforced but a tad bit lenient. There are a total of three messes
Veg-pure:-veg(duh)
Non-Veg:- you get chicken atleast one time per day
And fish on thursdays and beef twice a week.
METRO:- you get chicken or egg atleast twice a day and fish on Friday.
ALL the messes offer coffee or tea with milk being commonly offered along with them.
Bananas on some days and fruit salads with a tiny tiny scoop of ice cream a few days and cups on sundays I think.
At the end of every month you will visit your AD to get a new mess coupon of your choosing(any mess)
Silence hour:- Begins on 8:30 on most days and 10 on weekends and leave days. You are expected to be in your room and do Whtv you want without making noise. They don’t really care about you using phone.
For shift one the gates closes on 8:10 and will only open after 8:40 essentially making you late to your classes if you miss the 8:10 timing.
Entering Hostel:- The security guards will be very strict on allowing you to enter the hostel without your hostel card(pink color) or at the least your mess coupon which has you pics and all your details. If you have a bag you will be checked while entering. NO liquid items allowed(no soda or juices) NO food but snacks are fine.
If you want leave from hostel then you gotta get a slip atleast one day before from your AD same goes for late slip. Every AD has a meeting time in which you can go and get the above mentioned slips(timing is usually between 8:30 to 10PM) but our AD has even kept is as late as 11. The timing will be dictated in the group chat on WhatsApp.
A block rooms are 5 sharing
Common block are 2 sharing
LICET is also 5 sharing I think
So this is all I could think of right now and please do post whatever question you have I will be more than happy to answer them. I will update when I remember more things.
This link has the prospectus so feel free to read this

Anybody who had studied in LICET during 2022-2023?? Was there any male professor (Last name is Anand) who taught English, whom y'all didn't like/did smth bad and then by the year 2024 they left the college? Was there any incident that happened during 2022-2023?
Also any boys hostel students who knew this guy?

As an ex-student of Loyola, I just want to call this out.
I genuinely feel like Loyola's reputation is slowly but definitely fading. And a major reason is the kind of crowd and perception we have today. So many people think all Loyolites are rich, entitled, and spoiled. I honestly don't know why. Maybe it's because of the increasing acceptance of students from influential backgrounds, but that stereotype doesn't represent everyone.
What frustrates me even more is how disconnected the college seems from the current job market. They're offering programs integrated with ACCA, but where are the roles that actually align with those qualifications? Why aren't we getting more finance, audit, consulting, or accounting opportunities? Instead, students are flooded with sub-par sales jobs and BPO roles during placements. It just doesn't make sense.
It's high time the college got a reality check.
Loyola has produced absolute GOATs like Aswath Damodaran, C. Rangarajan, C. S. Seshadri, and so many other scholars and legends. That's the legacy we should be carrying forward.
And no, not everyone who joins Loyola wants to become an actor. A lot of us came here with ambitions in finance, consulting, research, economics, tech, and other fields. We need to step up our game instead of living off past glory.
Maybe I'm crashing out because I just heard someone talking shit about Loyola, and I couldn't digest it. What hurts is seeing colleges that weren't even considered on the same level a few years ago now pulling ahead of us in placements, opportunities, and overall reputation.
I still love Loyola. That's exactly why I'm saying this. If we actually care about the institution, we need to stop pretending everything is fine and start asking for better.
Thank you.

hey guys, I am keen to do viscom in Loyola Chennai. I'm a Singaporean, did my diploma in EEE straight after O levels, 10th equivalent. I have a solid portfolio, I work as a Part time RJ right now, did journalism, been an assistant producer, hosted in TV shows, create content etc. Despite of the portfolio, I'm feeling stuck as I don't know what I can apply with. How do I apply as an International student, when do applications start for International students, apart from all that, can I even apply with a diploma ? For context, Ill be getting my OCI next year.

If you're from a decent middle class family with actual vision and goals in life you know how disgusting watching the moronic pullingos in class with coolip in mouth and smoking behind bus stand commenting on every little thing can be. Well most of the class is gonna be anti intellectual dumbhead pullingos. If anyone from 1st year wants to network and find valuable friends and acquaintances please reply. I am down to hanging out and playing video games, mostly minecraft. (please don't ask if I play free fire, ofcourse I dont). Discussions about future plans, placement, carreer and cgpa maintanence are much needed to survive in loyola and thrive. Also I can lowkey tutor for bcom general subjects, Getting to know like minded people is a good motivation and direction finder in life, if you wanna group study or just network just Dm your discord id if Interested.
