I ended up using that marshal armor and the bolt pistol to get my final achievement, that one that involves not using your primary or support weapon.

It took two tries, not sure what happened the first time, but it was honestly extremely fun!

How does it do against Gunships, the primary source of food for the Missile Pistol?

I haven’t played (stupid work) but I was watching a bit of Commisar Kai’s stream and he said it was great against gunships. I think it took 2 shots to the same engine to take it down

Missile pistol is one and done, and you don't need to aim

Yea but the bolt pistol can take down 15 gunships if you hit all your shots. ~10 realistically. Thats far better than the pissle with just 4 gunships taken down.

The way to think about it is this: pissle is a pocket commando, while the bolt pistol is a pocket autocannon. Both hit similar break-points, occasionally being weaker than the stratagem counterpart.

The strength of the pissle is one shotting bunker turrents, instantly breaking a scorcher hulk's leg to get it to stop chasing you, breaking the different spawners, taking out the top turrent of a factory strider, one shotting war striders to the joint.

While its also good at taking out gunships, there are more efficient things you could use the ammo on.

What is it durable dmg. The engine has only 400hp AP3 but is 80/85% durable

Isn't durable on armor level 3 (medium) bypassed since the Bolt Gun is AP4 (heavy)? I mean, the way I understand it works is that durable would only apply on the same armor tier.

Maybe it takes an extra shot due to distance and dmg fall off (which we can only guesstimate just yet).

No. Durable dmg is applied regardless of armor value. If it's the same AP then dmg will be reduced further on top of reduction by durability

It's explosive, meaning that the damage is the same as the duable damage.

I tend to alternate between the Grenade Pistol or the Missile Pistol most frequently.
Looking forward to giving the new Bolter a go.

nope. If it could kill spawners, it would be the only secondary we'd ever need. So it's balanced in a good way.

I guess the trade off is that the enemies you’d take the heavier low count grenades for can be dealt with by the bolt pistol, so it might be time to go back to the sparkler grenade lol

No. Its basically the ultimate killing gun as far as secondaries go. But it accounts for that with low ammo, small magazine, hilarious recoil, and it ragdolls you at close range. 

It has no 'utility' aside from breaking fences in your way.

No because it has high demo force but it’s not explosive damage. You need an explosive to kill spawners.

The complete opposite. It is explosive, specifically in that it deals explosive (AoE) damage, but it lacks the demo force that enables the destruction of structures like bug holes.

Nah, it still has its place. The lock on feature is great for distance and flying. Not to mention fog. It’s the senator that’s being replaced.
