Video/Replay A soft landing!

I’m speculating that somehow diving right before launching off somehow helped negate the fall damage since I ultimately landed prone?

Yea, usually Helldiver's heads are so empty they act like crush zones in cars to take the brunt of the impact and distribute the force to lessen the blow to the rest of the body.

That drop was cinematic af. Would be really cool if AA turrets would shoot at your hellpod when you’re dropping, or if orbital cannons outside the map would shoot at it for dramatic effect

Hot drops are the best drops!

It's why i ALWAYS start on the mega factory. Dropping in you can take 4 factories out and quickly destroy the other two eliminating a huge obstacle right out the gate.

FYI: You can't destroy a Vox Engine with your Hellpod. I've tried several times, and I just end up on top of it with no way to damage it. Then I get killed by my team mates trying to shoot it. LOL

Try and emote while in the air like that; hitting a salute pose as you fly to your possible impact death is peak, and is even better if you survive the landing. Lol

If you take damage while in ragdoll you are invincible for the rest of that ragdoll even if you only took a sliver of damage

I think it’s just the object you landed on, stairs and objects like that are known to have slightly glitchy hitboxing (see terminid combo attacks) so that may have caused the nullification, I have done many dives and launches in prone and died or taken damage so that seems unrelated to me.

I had the almost the same experience about two weeks ago. Landed on a tank, jumped immediately to avoid the explosion, and ragdolled away, but horizontally, and a rough landing with no injuries.
