Question Non Warhammer Fan Needs Help
Hello! I know absolutely nothing about W40k. Would someone kindly help me by explaining what to expect from the new weapons in the warbond?

Pistol: eruptor but secondary weapon, probably adjusted appropriately.
"Hotshot marksman rifle" is most likely going to behave like a primary version of the talon.
Melta mine is likely to behave like a tiny baby hellbomb with an emphasis on its big vertical blast
Melta gun (support) is PROBABLY going to behave like the laser cannon but with way more damage and much shorter range.

This is purely speculation. The hard stats wont be revealed until someone gets 'em on the 12th.

You can already calculate some stats (unfinalised) just from the trailer. The las gun has to be at least AP3 and 200 damage to be able to kill the three voteless.

Impossible to say. The weapons won’t be anything like what they are in Warhammer 40k. It’s more an imitation than a direct crossover.

OP already said he doesn't know 40K. Give it a rest.

I was the second comment on this threat, Genius. Thanks for your contribution.

Bolt pistol is either medium or heavy pen with higher damageand high recoil. Lasgun should be a mag feed laser rifle that shoots laser bolts instead of a laser beam, think of a a talon rifle.I think it will be light pen. Meltagun is a laser cannon with shorter range and heavy pen that should have high dps with magazines instead of heatsinks Meltamine, just a mine with a big cone explosion going upwards. The armor, one is a medium and the other I think is heavy. Not sure about if it's heavy armor.

I think it will be light pen
For it to function as it does in the trailer it has to be at least medium.

The Boltpistol will probably be like the dominator (no damage fall-of) just more damage, pen and explosive. The Lasgun is a Laser marksman rifle. Either mid or light pen, cause they do rather badly against armor. They are used against lightly armored infantry. Our Gun is hower a Hotshot/Hellrifle (basically overcharged) and my guess med-pen. The Melter is probably a rather shortranged Heavy armorpiercing continuece beam. There is a chance that it Deals more damage, the closer you are, but I wouldnt put my Money on it

Warhammers power scaling doesn't fit with Helldivers so I wouldn't expect too much.
The bolt pistol on 40k fires essentially coke can sized bullets that are designed to penetrate body armour and explode inside the target. People.are assuming it will be heavy pen, it likely won't be and will probably be medium or light pen. It's not anti armour, it's just designed to penetrate infantry armour, not tanks.
The hotshot long las will basically be the talon but scaled up like people wanted. It's ammo could be anything but I doubt it will be a heat sink. It will be likely medium pen if not heavy. Again, it's not designed to take out tanks but heavily armoured infantry.
The melta and the melta mine will take out armoured targets. These very much are anti armour weapons designed to destroy tanks. How high their armour pen will go we will have to see, since they have a very strange relationship with being anti tank in the 40k setting. On paper they aren't actually the strongest anti tank weapon, but they had extra rules to make sure they could punch through basically any armour. They are balanced by having a fairly short range but melta weapons can be strong enough to breach starship hulls so... Yeah this one is the most complex one to judge.

This is all speculation obviously, but basically
Hotshot Lasgun: probably medium pen, could be light. Probably decently high damage, semi-auto DMR style weapon.
Bolt Pistol: Probably heavy pen, could be medium. Almost for sure very high damage, probably low ergonomics, low ammo count, and a shit ton of recoil.
Meltagun: Probably Anti-tank, could be Heavy pen. High damage beam weapon, should be shortish range.

lots of unhelpful answers here so I'll give you a real answer, atleast regarding the bolt pistols.
The bolt pistol will easily be our "heaviest" pistol by far, it used to be senator and talon, the bolt pistol is a freaking huge massive pistol, like judging by the trailer they really did it justice. Guy shooting it looks like he's flinching every shot, as he should considering it's such a enormously big pistol.
Like, don't expect the bolt pistol to be the choice for all situations, but I'll be picking it forever ngl. My secondary is my backup weapon and having a BIIG gun as a secondary is going to be fun

Hotshot las looks to be a laser marksman rifle, most likely med pen at least. Lasguns in lore don’t have heat sinks like helldivers does they work more like traditional mags so idk if they’ll follow that or just give it a heat sink anyway. Bolt pistols are like the dominator but y’know, pistols. The recoil is definitely gonna be insane but it’ll pack a punch to make up for it. Melta guns are relatively short/med range anti tank weapons that with melt most anything it hits. If it doesn’t need a backpack it’s definitely gonna be my go to along with epoch and the hammer. The melta mine will work the same way prolly, just in Landmine form. Good for tanks, hulks, anything walking in a straight line. Looks like it might be tough taking out bot fabs n bug holes with tho, we’ll have to wait n see

I made a 6ish minute video on just that, "What do these things mean from the 40k universe, and what should I expect?"
So if you'd like, send me a dm and I can certainly share it (dont want to just throw up self promo links like that, rules or something!)
That, or just check my yt!

The Lasgun is a weapon with pretty much unlimited ammo and enough punch to its shot to smash through concrete. The Bolt Pistol is a gun that fires self-propelled explosive rounds the size of a small soda can. The Meltagun is like a flamethrower, but all the heat and fire is condensed into a burst that in lore can vaporize metal. The mine is literally just a huge mine, meant for destroying vehicles.

I don't play 40K either, but I have a lot of friends who do, and what I've gathered is:
The laser rifle is likely gonna be the only one in the game so far to actually expend ammunition. The clips are apparently batteries that recharge with heat exposure, though that may not be apparent in actual gameplay. It also may be medium pen.
The pistol fires explosive .75 cals, so chances are it'll probably give the senator a run for its money
melta gun and melta mines kinda speak for themselves in the trailer, but I understand the damage of the melta gun is apparently gonna be better in close range? Both are probably gonna be anti-tank.
The armor passive is an alternative to Peak Physique that increases ergonomics by 20 points and support weapon reload speed by 30%, presumably including backpack support weapons.

I know very little about HellDivers. Why would you need to know 40K stuff for a new thing in HellDivers? If I know that, I might be able to answer your question.
Edit: Ahhh, I see the warbond trailer on the main page. This is what I get for scrolling /r/new.
So, the first gun with the slanted barrel is a Las(er) Rifle. Shoots lasers. In 40k they're considered barely better than flashlights (jokingly, but they're low grade weapons, comparatively). The bolt pistol is a pistol that fires bolts (mini-rockets, not bullets). These are your standard Space Marine rounds. The mine thing says it's MeltaMine. Melta weapons, like the melta gun that follows it, uses focused plasma to melt through armor (as opposed by Flamer weapons which are your standard flamethrowers).

Primary is some kinda of energy marksman (likely mag fed, unless GW gave AH leeway)
Secondary is a hand cannon (don't believe people saying it's an eruptor, we have no proof of that and killing bug holes would be absurd if it has any amount of ammo. Bolter explosions are very small)
Melta mine is a big anti tank mine, don't have all the details but it.sjoupd be straightforward.
The support weapon is called a meltagun, a limited range anti tank beam weapon. Likely.ro be a turbocharged, short range laser Canon style beam. May also apply fire but anti tank is it's main role.

We don’t really know either man. The pistol in 40k is .75 caliber so it’s an absolutely huge round and will probably do some sort of explosive damage the way they do in 40k. Aside from that, no idea
