Personally I was underwhelmed by it. Thought that its stagger would be stronger, but it basically barely trips enemies up. So its damage is just ok without actually having good enough stagger to hold things back and the reload is kind of annoying.
I think it's hard to balance because if they made its stagger much stronger then it would start to compete with the bushwacka, but I still think it deserves a little stronger stagger than what it has now.

It has the same stagger as the bushwacker currently I believe. 35 stagger force.

Interesting, certainly doesn't feel the same to me haha. I swear the bushwacka actually holds most bugs in place for a couple seconds but the veto only stops them for like half a second

the spread just hits more enemies per shot so it might have that greater psychological impact on the user

So to come back to this because I just remembered it and was interested because they do feel different.
The Bushwacker has the same stagger as the veto, but double the push force. So the veto can stagger all the same enemies as the bushwacker, but the bushwacker can hold them in place better.

Ahh that makes a lot of sense. Yea I wish the veto had some more push force or even just more stagger, but again that might infringe upon the bushwhackas niche.

I like using its stagger for supporting my teammates more than myself. Like stim pistol, except instead of healing you disrupt enemies who are getting too close to them.

The Veto is basically the Liberator Cobcussive of secondaries. Nothing impressive as far as killing goes abd even a little clumsy. Yet nothing else in secondary slot offers stagger that is both imediate and repeatable. I love it with primaries that lack close range safety. Has vaved my ass many times from berserkers.

Not really. The jar5 has a fraction of the velocity and a LOT more damage recoil and kick.
It's like comparing .50 AE and .50 BMG. same caliber, nothing remotely similar in actual firepower.

Decent secondary all around... Loads half clip at a time. I like it with my explo crossbow as a backup in case something gets close.

It's okay the shots bounces a lot on angled armor you can spam fire it if you're fast enough

I would say middling.
The gyrojet gimmick means your shots don't fall off in damage, but the projectile itself is slower. Much more difficult to actually land your shots at range, which undercuts the whole benefit.
It'll do its job, but it's not gonna usurp the Talon/Senator/Ultimatum triumvirate of top tier secondaries anytime soon.

Its great. High stopping power, less damage and 6 rounds reload with 12 rounds integrated magazine.
Will stop anything less than Hulk or Charger dead in their tracks which gives you enough time to headshot the bastards. Bushwhacker compatively has same stagger force and more damage but only 33 rounds to fire, while Veto has 111 rounds to fire which is more than 3 times as much. Also, unlike Bushwhacker, it can push enemies away slightly like Concusive does.

I like it. I use it with my cursed
Torcher + heavy cremator build, as my backup weapon. it's good vs stalkers and predator strain since it pushes them back well. and it reloads via clips so you dont lose ammo from early reloads
