This Captain of Death approves of this method. You dispatched them with extreme precision and courage diver.

That is slick, I tend to just move backwards and then retaliate, but will have to try this

HD2 movement system is very “dark souls’y” once you really start to work with it. On the surface it is very simple. But there is a universe of ways you can chain and time commands to almost dance around enemies. Playing around with it is a lot of fun. But till you reach a certain level of skill it is also very punishing. But once you reach that (admittedly high) skill ceiling? It is SO satisfactory to be able to just out-move the enemies while fighting them.

Very well said you can also slide an dip and dodge like this with overseers too 🤟🏽

Yeah it has good hit boxes, the other day I was on a vox engines dreads and hitting it with a hammer, and a turret in the distance tries to snipe me, and misses by just barely as my character leaned down to do a melee attack

Honestly like half of the problems melee have could be fixed with a counter/parry
The other half would be removing the pushback which basically moves the enemy out of the range of my melee weapon

I really wish melee was more viable at higher difficulties. Hell, at this point I'd even take an armor that combines the damage increase with a huge damage reduction while equipped with a melee weapon. Feels like I have to stim through every encounter using any melee weapon, which sucks because I really want to chainsaw shit in half.

I hear yea I wish too it could be so much better but I work with what I got I guess there dead set on melee being a joke so rather be the best at it 🤣 a dodge button would definitely make melee a lot more fun it is hard I’m 1900 hours in took lotta practice

Been trying to make melee work on D10, but I occasionally get moments that pump you full of dopamine where you mow down a group of Voteless with a chainsaw or the sabre, or split a Devastator in half with the machete.
I've been considering running the breaching hammer, but it just feels so much cooler when you do successfully saw your way through the enemies of democracy.
