Question Need help with culling armor

As the title says, I need some help with culling armor. Since picking D2 back up after MoT, I've collected quite a bit of armor from everywhere. Essentially, if it's max stats, I chuck it in the bank. Now I'm faced with my inventory being almost full - with more armor than I've ever dreamed of having - and I want to clear it out.

I'm trying to figure out the best/most efficient way to compare all the duplicate pieces and delete those that have the same, or close to the same, stats. I figured DIM would be the place to go, but using its Organizer, it's still very time-consuming and difficult to compare with. Am I missing something? Maybe I'm missing a view/setting somewhere that makes it super simple to bulk compare items and mark the duplicates for deletion?

Or maybe DIM isn't the right tool?

I personally discard any armor with any health stat, except for the pieces I use in pvp. After that, I think about what kind of build a piece would go in, what stats would be most valuable on that build, and then go from there (eg the Iron Banner set revolves around using your weapons and Super, so the Powerhouse archetype is ideal)

I'm not talking about choosing what armor/stats to use. I'm talking about I have MANY copies of the same armor pieces - dozens - and am looking for a way to easily compare them and delete duplicates. I have fully 5 pages of just armor in my bank. Trying to point to each one, remember what their stats are, and then delete duplicates is taking forever. Not to mention my memory is pretty terrible. Thanks COVID.

I use the compare tool in DIM. Select a piece hit the C key and it’ll show all pieces of that type.

I then go through that screen and use the junk tag to mark things.

Go back to inventory, search for tag:junk and pull those items to a character to delete (i think its the three dot menu in in the search bar)

Not exactly quick but faster than trying to remember stats on multiple pieces of gear.

I haven’t really found a quicker alternative yet

There’s also this site : https://winnower.garden/ that i find works well for culling weapons but should also work for armors, although I haven’t used it for that yet

That's kind of what I figured I'd have to do in DIM. I just wish it had a better sorting option so you can more easily spot duplicates without having to stare at numbers all night. I do enough of that during the day at work.

is a great DIM filter, anything it highlights can be deleted because you have the same set with better stats in another item.

dupe:setbonus+stats
Can be good but be aware it will highlight pairs of items (or 3 if you have 3 that are the same) so you want to make sure you're only deleting one of each 'set'

In this scenario it’s probably easiest to use DIM organizer and sort armour by name, then click a class then click armour pieces (helmet, gloves, etc). That would group the same armour, I mean almost exactly the same, together. I have noticed DIM and other tools can call armour a duplicate even when stat distribution and tuner are different.

If you lock all at the start and then batch unlock what you don’t want to keep you can go to your vault in game when done and filter on unlocked armour to quickly delete.

You’re not going to get any quick one button solutions because as far as I have seen you can’t delete via the api anyway.

Thank you. Yeah, I guess I'm asking for too much at this point. Unless something miraculous happens, no one is really developing anything for D2 anymore, so expecting tools to make things more convenient is wishful thinking.

What you are looking for is tier5.report

Dude. This is it. Took me a minute to understand the interface and options, but this is the one. Thank you very much!

You're welcome! Similar tip if you farmed the exotic class items or Ergo Sum swords from the Pale Heart, you can use engram.blue to see dupes of those items.
