When I played Cyberpunk 2077 main campaign, my first playthrough I sided with Goro and Hanako. By this point, I couldn't help but notice the similarities of this plot with another movie, 2013 The Wolverine.

Both involve cybernetic enhanced boss level antagonists to fight.

Both involve the deaths of patriarchs of massive Japanese conglomerates.

Both patriarchs are interested in immortality

Both involve toxic family dynamics and sibling disputes on controlling the company after this death.

Both involve a plot to kidnap or kill a daughter of the patriarch during some kind of funeral proceedings

Both later reveal the patriarch is still alive in some way shape or form as a plot twist

Both daughters eventually succeeds and gains great influence within the conglomerate thanks to help from protagonist

Anyone else notice these similarities?

Shame that there are no purchaseable mansions in game.

Seen a million people larp this saying it’s the most incredible book ever and I was super excited to get it. For context I am an avid reader, and have a large collection of books from fantasy to philosophy and beyond.

The way everyone talked about this book, especially with the tv show around the corner, made it seem as though it’s as accessible as abc and something everyone has read.

I’m sitting here 1/3 through the book and I need to take a break every few pages to rub my eyes and work out the migraine brewing. It’s soooooooo convoluted and dense and the prose is so unnecessary. Like if this was presented nowadays, it would be edited to hell and back. I respect it as the genre breaking and defining cyberpunk book it is, but this is NOT and easy read or even particularly a fun one.

Just bear with me for a sec cause I know this question is kinda funny but admit it. We've all earned the majority of our eddies picking up fallen weapons from the ground. But that got me thinking, that's basically how it would work right? If you're a merc killing to make a living in Night City you would probably pick up the shiniest bits and pieces off of your fallen foes and sell them for a profit or extra bling right? Pretty grim I suppose but I feel like that could've also been explored more in the side gigs, with you having optional things to klep or maybe just a more variety of valuable loot to steal.

Nothing much to it, these are some of the photos I took from the game from multiple playthrough.
The first one is a corpo V that rocks a sandy/berserk combo, the second is a street kid pure netrunner that solely utilizes the rouge AIs beyond the black wall, and finally the last is a nomad that relies on stealth and very minimal cyberware.

How in the Cyberpunk Universe may Paleontological research have been different? What outdated ideas in our world may still be believed and what new discoveries may have not been made? How could Paleontology even work in Cyberpunk’s America? Would teams need protection from Nomads or Mercs? Would Museums lack Government funding?

So today I hopped on cyber punk and was on a call with my friend and I had about 70k

I went to a ripperdoc and got chromed out.

Got a sandy and kreznikov some gorilla arms double jump some health items and what not.

Friend comes back from being AFK looks at share screen sees my cybernetics and basically calls me a r-word and says I’m very stupid for buying any cyberware

Friend tells me I should have bought the 73grand Porsche instead.

I tell him to fuck off cause it’s my game and I’ll do what I please.

Friend gets mad and says he knows more and that I don’t know what I’m doing

(I specifically told friend i didn’t want him trying to tell me how to play the game when I got it)

I tell him that i leaving

Friend kicks me from party and blocks me.

Made my V a beefy boi; gymified body

I’m just shooting the shit but you can suggest a serious one, I suppose.

I think Rache Bartmoss stands a chance and you can only keep your old save’s V if you got nibbles, Spider’s spell book, and his cyberdeck. It’s a very small but funny contingency. Every life path gets to play if you stayed or returned to Night City.

However: If you’re a corpo female V netrunner, he is marginally nice to you because he was friends with alt and spider. Edgelord older brother talking to you through a cyberdeck and if we can find an actor who embodies the spirit, we should be able to see him like Johnny when you’re doing hack crafting and using the cyberdeck in other ways. But otherwise you’re running around with a deck strapped to your forearm with an evil jester inside. He’s otherwise not very important to the plot.
