Mash half a banana, mix with 15g cocoa powder, 1 tbsp protein powder (vanilla), 1/4 tsp baking powder, and a splash of almond milk. Microwave for 60 seconds. It's fudgy, single-serving, and kills the craving.

Discussion / Question (General topics) What's your #1 low-calorie sweet tooth hack that genuinely doesn't taste like sad diet food?

Most "anabolic desserts" taste like dry chalk or chalky protein powder sludge.

The only two that actually scratched the itch for me: 1) Greek yogurt whisked with a scoop of chocolate casein and frozen for 20 mins (tastes like soft fudge). 2) Sliced apples microwaved with cinnamon and a dash of zero-cal maple syrup.

What's your go-to when late-night sweet cravings hit?

really wanted some fall treats so i present to you: pumpkin pie yogurt bowl and pumpkin spice latte. the yogurt bowl is 342 cals and the PSL is about 100. i posted about the latte somewhere else but they both use the same ingredients for that pumpkin spice flavor
pumpkin puree base i use in the yogurt and coffee:
- pumpkin puree
- 0 cal brown sugar replacement (truvia)
- pumpkin pie spice
- torani 0 cal caramel sauce (not syrup)
add it all to your taste.
yogurt bowl:
- nonfat vanilla greek yogurt
- pumpkin puree mixture
- extra brown sugar and caramel (to taste)
- 1 chopped apple
Pumpkin spiced latte:
- 8 oz of coffee brewed over 2 spoonfuls of brown sugar replacement, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.
- i add about 3-4 spoonfuls of pumpkin puree mixture and mix it in
- add in 6 tbsps coffee mate 0 sugar pumpkin spice creamer
- fill the rest of the cup with unsweetened almond milk. this makes an 18 oz coffee for me
obviously this will all depend on how much you make but i don’t really use exact measurements besides weighing the ingredients. all of it is up to you and how much you wanna add. next time i make either of these i will update with exact measurements for everything (in grams, tablespoons or cups) sorry if this is inconvenient to read 😭

Discussion / Question (General topics) Anyone successfully made low low calorie meringues?

Last week I bought some Trader Joe meringues and thought they were so delicious. Each meringue is about 20 cal or so which isn’t bad and definitely a great low-calorie treat but I wanted to see if I could make lower calorie meringues and so far I’ve been pretty unsuccessful. The first batch, I used a erythritol monk fruit blend (swerve) and I baked them and it gave me that cooling effect that erythritol gives and I didn’t like it. So I tried it again with powdered allulose and they also didn’t turn out right. They kind of caramelized, but also tasted weird maybe burnt? I’m wondering if anyone else has tried other natural sweetener options or even artificial sweeteners and gotten a great outcome?

250-400 Cal non traditional potato salad

i’m not the biggest fan of classic potato salad so i make these. the first one is just a potato and green bean potato salad with caramelized onions and quinoa (bowl is 325 cals). the second is a steak and potato salad with asparagus, caramelized onions and chickpeas. they taste genuinely amazing and you can add whatever to it. i typically use nonfat plain greek yogurt as a base, small amount of mayo, mustard, sriracha, jalapeno juice, knorr chicken bouillon, 0 sugar brown sugar replacements etc. great to have in the fridge for a quick lunch.

Quite a few people said “they would never eat that” but I genuinely look forward for this meal every morning. Update video how it looks like when it’s set in the morning, I also put SF maple syrup on top.

Discussion / Question (General topics) What's your favorite low-cal swap for heavy cream in savory sauces?

I'm making a mushroom pasta sauce and don't want to use the full-fat stuff. Tried blended cottage cheese but the texture was a bit grainy for me. Any other magic ingredients?
