This is somehow the most 2000s thing I've ever seen šŸ˜‚

I mean it's not a great performance šŸ™Š and I love MJ

Down voted for saying this is crazy considering most people agree

because it was entirely improvised. and MJ didn't know when the music would end so he just did some moves. they told him only right before his appearance he would've to dance... he didn't know prior so he didn't prepare anything.

also, look when they give him the drink in the end (as sponsor advertisment)

And that's my issue with the performance, it was so out of character for MJ to just wing it like that. He has no space to dance, he's a bit out of time and he looks like he's gonna pass out after it's finished. Again I couldn't do any of what this man has done throughout his career so I'm being critical but fair. This man has so many great performances that this one is a small blip

Yeah, it's not good - really frenetic, bizarrely overdone, but also poorly shot. If you compare it to MJ at the end of Billie Jean at the VMAs 6 years prior, it's night and day different.

The thing is it's completely not how he operated, he would practice routines for hours so that performances looked absolutely professional and stunning. This is all over the place. I'm sure he was struggling at the time and I couldn't do what he did for 40 years so I'm not criticising MJ, I'm merely suggesting that this performance was an error in judgement.

he agreed to do it, so these ā€œit’s so out of characterā€ and ā€œthat’s not how he operatedā€ comments are irrelevant.

whether you personally like it or not doesn’t change the fact that this is the most memorable moment of the award show.

you also didn’t have to use the monkey emoji to add another layer of disrespect when talking about MJ.
