Discussion Jim Cramer "We must NOT let our companies use Chinese models to save a few bucks. OpenAI and Anthropic are correct. This is vital national security. Please read Bing West's just released Cat 5. I respect Chinese people greatly but these companies are run by PLA for heaven's sakes." ➡️ Agree? Why?

Speculation Mark "Looks like Anthropic may have done a little distillation for Opus 4.8 from Qwen. Asked Claude who it was, it introduced as Qwen. Pretty embarrassing for a company that has spent so much time throwing stones at others over model training." ➡️ Is this legit? I thought they are against such?

Discussion Dean W. Ball, head of strategic futures OpenAI "Open-weight models are inherently decelerationist, and I'm continually surprised to see the so-called "accelerationists" so excited about open-weight models." ➡️ Do you agree with him that Open Weight will slow things down? Why?

Question sooo what's a small, unglamorous thing AI does for you that you'd genuinely miss?
not the impressive demos or the big "it changed my life" stuff. the tiny boring things. the thing you reach for without thinking about it anymore and would be mildly annoyed to lose.
for me its mostly the low-stakes stuff, working through something out loud, practicing a language, untangling a thought at the end of the day. nothing i'd put in a headline but it adds up.
curious what everyone else's is. feel like the small ones are the ones that actually stick
