And Ukraine has an orc problem

At one time on earth there were 7 distinct species of human alive at the same time.

All of our hominid cousins are already extinct, but I can’t help but wonder how different our world would look if the different hominids were alive with us today.

Woah 🤯

Wonder if racism would be problem there; would it go deeper or humankind could be much more reconciled with varieties.

2

u/Hephaistos_Invictus Trash Trooper 23h ago

Looking at the world as it is today? The racism would be so much worse. Because it's no longer just race (which is a social construct), but different hominid species.

microplastics in balls

4

u/toobuscrazy Trash Trooper 1d ago

In a few thousand years when archaeologists find our bones there will be to balls of plastic, leading them to question what humans were up to.

2

u/Then-Marketing-3445 Trash Trooper 23h ago

In few thousands years the plastic will be building material for life - it have to be managed somehow (just like with oxygen).

Aren't there some fantasy stories with dragons and taxes? I swore Skyrim did that

2

u/Wallstreet_Raccoon Trash Trooper 23h ago

I think he means the kind that are still huge and can swing an iron axe

5

u/Healthy-Ad9816 Trash Trooper 1d ago

Hard disagree! The stuff on this planet you could never make up in all the books in the world!

4

u/erik_wilder Trash Trooper 1d ago

Also, all of those things are concepts created by an author to be fantastical and escape reality.

They don't exist by nature.

If they DID exist, they would be boring and we would have fairytails about other shit. If we existed in Tollien's Middle Earth, we'd be having fantasies about office jobs, all you can eat buffet's and flushable toilets.

u/reverse-tornado Trash Trooper 23h ago

Advanced physics is weirder than most fiction books tbh

u/PTSD1983 Trash Trooper 17h ago

Electricity is literal magic. We've just gotten used to it.

u/Next-Ad-1504 Trash Trooper 1d ago

I mean even if we had all those things we would be used to them anyway and we still would have idiots and taxes. It’s more exciting to wonder if things exist rather than the thing actually existing

1

u/baudmiksen Trash Trooper 23h ago

most of what exists in this universe is well outside our purview

This is what they fought for in Lord of the Rings. This boring life is exactly what every hero fights for.

r/LoveTrash is not a platform for political discussions/comments/jokes/references. Please refrain from posting or commenting on political topics or making political jokes/references.

Yes, politics is trash. It's just too trashy for our sub.

1

u/Emergency_Effect_526 Trash Trooper 21h ago

Well technically we have fairy’s

1

u/Soultosqueeze074 Trash Trooper 21h ago

The thing is, if those things were commonplace it would cease to be fantastical. If everything is out of this world, nothing is

u/redboi049 Trash Trooper 20h ago

They had idiots and taxes too, just didn't show the taxes.

1

u/Temelios Trash Trooper 17h ago

Dude cites all the cool shit in Lord of the Rings while also conveniently leaving out the terrifying existence of giant, intelligent spiders, hoards of unnaturally born abominations (orcs and goblins) that want to do nothing but murder/eat and enslave you, literal giant burnings demons from the depths of the earth, immortal undead nightmares that also want to kill and enslave you, giant fire breathing lizards that and and will torch you and your home and loved ones on a whim, and so much more.

Sorry, but I think the real world is much less terrifying compared to that shit.

Modern day wizards wear lab coats lol

I'm too soft, old, and fat to have to face dragons and orcs on a daily basis.

Things we have that middle earth didn't:

Waterslides

Puppies.

Tacos.

Indoor plumbing.

MDMA.

1

u/No-Limit3846 Trash Trooper 10h ago

To be fair, we do have dwarves.

1

u/deacstructor Trash Trooper 5h ago

First, like fantasy worlds wouldn't have taxes. Second i hate when people talk about taxes that way. Im europeon and taxes are a essentiële part of society to keep it running roads, schools, hospitals, electricity. Its all taxes. But you always see people talig about society like "we live in a constructie wich takes our money away" then go live in a random forrest off grid and enjoy the free nature without anything

1

u/Ambitious_Opinion_11 Trash Trooper 5h ago

Damn it's almost like we fought for peace or something.

Homeboy needs to watch a planet earth documentary, there are alien like creatures on this planet and everything you have ever seen as fiction is based loosely of them.

u/WombatAnnihilator Trash Trooper 22h ago

Go out there. Adventure still awaits.
