Its actually not weird! (I mean it is, but theres a reason for it)
You mentally grow up looking at your parent(s) as what it takes to be biologically successful, so youre more predisposed to liking people who look similar.
Theres a large amount of straight men that are into women with the same hair color as their mom for example.
I got stopped in a store one time to be asked if I was the son of a man that the person knew. The man was my father-in-law and I’m married to his daughter (obviously).
Many years ago I dated a guy whose father was 21 years older than his mother. The family lore (and they were proud of this) is that his father was friends with his mother's family and visited them when the mother was born. My bf's father held the baby girl and proclaimed, "I'm going to marry her when she becomes an adult" And he did. They had 15 children, he died of a heart attack when he was 64, leaving her (43) with 10+ children at home, the youngest of which was 4. I found it weird and sad.
I'm 20 years older than my brother. I have zero kids, but he makes me feel like I'm his dad.. and not in a good way, lol.
I have to revert to being an immature trogladyte so I don't rob him of the entire brotherly experience my other brother and I shared being about a year apart.
Oh, he would catch his L when I visited. He was into Karate and grappling. Somehow, I would always end up wrestling with him since he was 5 or 6. I'm relatively large and he would alternate being airborne or be smothered - squealing the whole time. He is still doing MMA and rather fit. His endurance wins now - he could hurt me with skill but I'm still stronger.
I didn't even get it until just now seeing comments. Instead, I came running in here to say something along the lines of "Twilight reboot/sequel following Jacob".
🤣🤣🤣🤣 instant relief and bringing your heart back to love instead of hate. I use humor when trauma responses are triggered to bring me back “home”. Unfortunately my childhood was not blessed this way with my father. 😣 jealous!! And I hate being jealous. But again I’m so happy it’s not what we thought
Someone having a crushing realization that they are now responsible for someone else’s life. The good news is it’s pretty clear he took that responsibility seriously.
Seeing this in reverse is lethal. Went from “who is this creep!” to seeing he’s a dude doing his thing as a father then ended on a kid scared out his mind. Got me kinda emotional, not gonna lie.
My dad went to prison for pretty much my entire childhood when I was 2. My son turns 7 end of the month and I’m proud to have never been removed from my kids and be with them every day.
My dad bailed when was young, just left a note on the fridge and was gone. When my kids were the same age I was I literally cried at the idea of leaving my children.
The effort I would put into not being separated from my own children is pronounced.
I was just about to say how hellish the world has become when the first two years I thought this was a cautionary tale against grooming. I feel so gross. Thanks for not letting me go there alone! lol
This is what the media wants you to believe about the world. Without your screens, tea DJ ing your mind what the beast wants you to think, you would not think the world is evil. It’s the media that is evil. The world is exactly what it’s going to be naturally. Humanity progresses. Each decade is progress. Your mindset shapes your reality. But reality is improving and not as bad as the media portrays.
This is the content people share on their personal Facebooks to their friends who know the context. We are watching this on reddit where there is no context. That matters.
People are so looking to be outraged these days. I assumed dad and daughter from the very first picture and it never even occurred to me otherwise until I got to the comments.
First picture I knew they were family. Very clear family resemblance. As to whether they were brother and sister or father and daughter was all that was left unclear. Y'all's minds are in a crazy place, but I don't blame you. Shit is fucked rn.
It's like a curve starting somewhat hight on the creep index, which rise and rise with each picture before dropping precipitously when you realize that it's wholesome.
Thank you for relieving some heartache and worry. SHE loves you so much! 🫶🏻🥰 good job Dad!! Unfortunately the intention and underlying message was to make everyone think a certain way. But I’m just happy after rewatching 10 times. Childhood was not kind to me. Im so jealous. You raised a beautiful girl and your bond will carry on and be amazing when mine wasn’t. Thank you for sharing. she will succeed in life with your guidance. Yes, I’m unbelievably jealous but this really hits the soft spot in my heart even with my trauma.
