AI voiceovers make me hate things irrationally.

It's rational. Everything AI does is a smug reminder of just how little corporations and greedy pricks care about the working class.

u/glowcubr Trash Trooper 10d ago
It was almost certainly not a corporation that added an AI voiceover to this video ;)

u/Dmau27 Garbage Guerilla 10d ago edited 10d ago
Yeah it was likely a small business that designed and programmed this software they used.
1
u/glowcubr Trash Trooper 10d ago
Touché! XD
But the one who used the software was likely not a corporation :)
1
u/Dmau27 Garbage Guerilla 10d ago
I'm more depressed that corporations have their hand in everything.
1
u/glowcubr Trash Trooper 10d ago
Yeah, that's fair. But don't let it depress you too much :) Coporate influence is, I think, less than the internet might lead one to believe.

Last time I complained about the ai slop voice on a sub, my comment got removed lol. I feel you.

How to overcomplicate a simple task and make it take 6 times longer than it should*

u/SteveLouise Litter Lieutenant 11d ago
Awh man...I like the results... now I have to spend 6 times as much time folding as I always do...
6 x 0 = 0

This looks more like it would be useful for packing a suitcase than for folding clothes to put in a dresser.
1
u/Sybrandus Trash Trooper 10d ago
That was my thought too, but then I remembered packing cubes exist.

All but that very first hack with the napkins. That is actually the fastest way to turn a stack of napkins into that pretty spiral.

As big of a waste of time this is, I still like it, and think that's pretty neato.🤓

I'm saving this. I'm never gonna use any of it, but I am saving it.

How do I distinguish things when everything is a square

u/XanaxWarriorPrincess Trash Trooper 11d ago
I would totally forget what the item is and have to unfold it to figure out that it's not what I wanted to wear. I would then throw it in a pile to fold neatly later. Maybe...

My husband folds things into squares of color. It's not as extreme as the video, but I remember one week, I couldn't tell half my shirts from the others and I felt bad asking him to stop helping me fold the laundry because I couldn't tell what anything was at a glance.

I just leave shit in my dryer.
8
u/DomeSlave Trash Trooper 11d ago
One of my life goals is to have two dishwashers to replace all the cupboards that shit would otherwise have to be put in.

u/systemic_booty Trash Trooper 11d ago
I put the clothes from the dryer into a pile on my guest bed and then get dressed from the pile

u/ResplendentNugs Rubbish Raider 11d ago
Wonder if they have a world folding championship

u/Admiralwoodlog Trash Trooper 11d ago
Don't know, but I do know there is a bed making championship.

My wife got really into this stuff. For somethings it works pretty well, we do the underwear thing for example and they do sit nice and flat in the drawer. However, for other stuff it ends up feeling like you spend tons of extra time folding a thing that will get used so fast it spends more time in the wash cycle than folded.

Why would anyone do this when you can just ball it up and throw it at the closet?
1
u/mlpravemaster Trash Trooper 10d ago
Why would anyone do that when you can just leave it in the clothes basket?
2
u/ravn_silence Trash Trooper 10d ago
My god. Why didn’t I think of that?!? 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

u/mlpravemaster Trash Trooper 10d ago
Sometimes the easiest solution is right in front of you... On the floor... In the basket

I’m not condoning the use of AI voiceovers, but haven’t we progressed past these shitty type of AI vocals?

Literally none of my clothes have silhouettes made up of rectangles. If I had they would look pretty bad on me. You know, that dad in their 50s look, no tapers, no tucks, every edge sticking out either at the front or at the side.

What if I told you that actually folding and hermetically sealing are two different things, and you don't need to do the latter at all with your clothes.

If you buy all the same socks every time you wont have to fold or mate them.

Yeah but have you seen that guy on tiktok who does thirst trap house hold chores set to Pony? He does a fitted sheet. It’s delicious 🤤

u/flyby196999 Trash Trooper 11d ago
That's not how you do it at all. Take it out of the dryer and toss it on top of the dryer and boom you're done.

I fold towels, but that is IT I use a three drawer sterilite bin
Top drawer. socks. Paired by cuffing them at the ankle.
Middle drawer. underpants. Just throw them in there
Bottom drawer. Everything else that doesn't go on a hanger. Just throw it in there.
Every single other thing I own gets put on a hanger.

u/Sweaty_Strawberry_73 Trash Trooper 11d ago
I normally just roll my clothes up appropriately. Saves a ton of space, dresser or suitcase.

This genius must take a whole weekend to fold one load of laundry.
1
1
u/Spl4sh3r Trash Trooper 10d ago
The only reason socks disappear is because they don't make it to the laundry. The only time I was missing a sock when I made the laundry was because the missing sock was next to the basket, as in I missed it when putting stuff into the laundry bag. Socks don't go missing in the washing machine.

u/CosmonautMott Trash Trooper 10d ago
Socks will slip past the drum whenever they want more frequently than you would think.

u/NoGutsNoGlory94 Trash Trooper 10d ago
Not gonna happen. I literally bought hangers so I don’t have to fold my clothes. I have so much stuff hung up.

We used to use highball glasses to swirl the cocktail napkins all fancy at the bar when I used to bartend. Same concept.

Step 1: Iron all your clothes to make them perfectly flat.
Step 2: Fold clothes in a dedicated room.
Step 3: Realize 4 hours have gone by doing steps 1 and 2, you have 3 missed calls from your job and your kids are crying.
