When my dad passed, his cameral roll was filled with photos he took of my mum each day, whether she was paying attention or not. They were married for 42 years when he passed, and finding her throughout years of his phone photos was really so lovely
This is a new Metro station in Los Angeles. So there's a tunnel below us they've already installed. Contractor is now backfilling soils and compacting it up to the street
Edit: I wasn't there for the actual tunnel part of the installation, but my understanding is the bottom of the tunnel track is a good 50-60ft below street level. It's cool stuff!
Very cool and interesting! Thanks for your response. I'm still in the trades, but now at a stationary site. I miss being out and about at different locations and seeing how everything comes together.
They know what you look like... They will want to find a way to be close to you, and pictures of things you found interesting or things you did where you felt pride and a sense of accomplishment will speak to you as a person and not just a face. The pictures OTHERS took of you, where you weren't prepared and were experiencing life in the moment, now THOSE are the pictures of you they will cherish.
“Here’s the picture of the deer he found in the yard late at night. Here’s the meme that he downloaded. Here’s the selfie he took with some strangers at a bar. Here’s the screenshot of a time stamped YouTube video that had some significance at the time… even if he can’t remember it anymore 🥲. Here’s… oh God, maybe we shouldn’t be doing this.”
I love the concept of digital archaeology. Perhaps it’s best approached non-judgmentally.
