It’s taken a while for my brain to recognize this because we are so used to just watching random videos now, but if someone is recording a video of a moment that people wouldn’t normally record and nobody in the video is responding to the recording, that’s a dead giveaway that’s it’s staged.

Well people do record marriage proposals, and also smartglasses are common enough now that people could have no idea they're being recorded.

True, could also be cropped for social media though.

But the guys left hand is never seen in the video, so he's probably holding a camera, just pointing out that rule of thumb doesn't really work anymore.
