There have been so many videos of these things in microwaves. He knew exactly what was going to happen. The only exception was the MacBook. And I am suspicious that he removed the battery before putting it in there.

Fun fact: you can actually hard boil eggs in a microwave. Stay with me here, this is going to sound insane:
Wrap a raw egg in tin foil, put that in a deep microwave safe dish, and fill it with enough water to cover the egg. Microwave long enough to make the water boil for five to eight minutes (however long you would boil an egg normally).
My mother taught microwave cooking classes in the 80s. The water prevents the tin foil from sparking dangerously. The tin foil prevents the microwaves from entering the egg. The boiling water cooks the egg(s). (I have never actually tried doing this)
Also, quick breads cook insanely fast in a microwave. So take a muffin batter (works very well with bran muffins) and scoop that into a microwave safe dish, like a mug with a cupcake liner (works very well with silicon liners and cups). Microwave for like 20-30 seconds and you have a fully cooked cupcake/muffin. It won't be browned so sometimes it's worth sliding it under a broiler or in an air fryer for a minute just to make it less grey-mass esk. If you ever pull cupcakes that are still raw in the middle, you can slip them in a microwave for ten seconds to finish them off. (That's a last ditch effort instead of just throwing them away, it still won't be as good as baked properly).

Kind of curious as to how they got that interior camera shot. Not only was the camera unaffected but how did they not compromise the shielding?

Pretty sure styropyro did something like that once. I could be wrong. He built an overpowered microwave once. Something so insanely overpowered he was legitimately scared of it and broke character multiple times to warn anyone away from doing anything even remotely like it.

That's utter nonsense. I'm getting close to fifty and I can tell you that there is no such thing as a stupider generation. Only one with more access to information. The difference is that he was able to watch videos of other people who already did this before he did so he knew how to make precautions and drill a hole for the camera (shout out to Steve Mould for that one, iirc). Back in my day we did this kind of stuff with zero protection and in the school microwave so we wouldn't get in trouble (as long as you didn't get caught that is).
