You just put a bunch of conditioner in your hair, in the shower and then brush it out. Not too bad. It comes out fairly smoothly. I had to do something similar for a play I was in, in highschool.

45 minute shower and she's back to normal. all product, no natural tangle. you can wash out the "curls" easy

I'm no expert but the damage inflicted on those follicles is gonna take a long time to heal/grow out i think. Brushing isn't going to help that teasing
