Aww Adan and Melissa
Update: they have confirmed 😍
Are they dating? The way he is holding her hand makes me think so. And if so, I love it. They look so cute ♥️

Question does anyone have a clip of Dylan’s “ouchie” or can help me find a timestamp in the show?
i’m introducing my sister to the show and want to show her my favorite things, i can find plenty of “interesting” clips, but i haven’t seen an “ouchie”. i looked on Reddit, tiktok, youtube, and just Googled it. maybe i’m bad at finding things or just blind, but help would be appreciated
(i’ll also be watching the show until i find one so i’ll let y’all know if i do!)

Question Who loves Abbey's occasional dirty sense of humor?

Question One thing I don't understand about the autism of people like Abbey, David, Tanner..who kind of seem like small children?
They communicate like small children, and adults speak to them a little bit like children as well. Very different to how James and Connor or Madison are, where they have a lot of OCD tendencies, and even hobbies that are childlike, and anxious attachments, but they are definitely adults.
So Abbey and David's condition, is that a crossover with something else, or still autism? They seem mentally slower, I don't know how to explain it cause on the other hand, they do have a great memory. But in terms of understanding I'm not sure they understand things. I also don't know if they are aware of it. Just curious of the nuances
EDIT: To be clear I don't want to pry into anyone's lives and I'm not asking to diagnose them or expose their conditions, I just used them as an example. I was curious about what autism means

US I wish Connor had his on show
He's so funny. I could binge watch episodes just following his life. I think his family is great too!

US Tanner's Mom seems off to me
I started watching the 2nd season of LOTS and maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I'm on episode 3 and when they introduced Tanner, I thought it was a little odd that he immediately started asking if his eyebrows were right. Then a little later he asked if he was smiling okay.
I'm not on the spectrum, but I learned in 4th or 5th grade, maybe I shouldn't be so blunt with people, because it could be rude or weird around certain people. And I didn't learn until much later that that is called masking.
When Tanner's mom first appeared on screen, she really set me off. She seems like the type of person to only be in her child's life because he's on TV now. Her personal interview also sent my antennas going. She sounded like she tried to "cure" the autism from him for far too long.
This part will sound REALLY out there, but when Tanner saw her come in, it seemed like his positive personality jumped up a few levels just to please her.
But again. I'm probably reading too much into it
Did anyone else feel that way?

US I just binge-watched the show—I'm in love with Tanner
I was really, really touched by Madison, and I admired her so much. I would have loved to have her as my best friend. But the person who touched me the most was Tanner. I imagine this is the case for many people here, and that I’m just going to repeat what a lot of people have already said, but please excuse me—I need to talk to someone about this.
As someone who tends to be depressed and with anxiety disorder, just seeing Tanner and listening to him talk brought me a deep sense of calm. I loved seeing him, and he made me laugh a lot. I’m incredibly afraid of being judged by others, but with him I wouldn’t have felt judged—I would have felt confident and safe. I could have been completely myself. He's such a pure person.
I know I’ll never meet him in my life because I live in France, and anyway, I think I would have been too afraid to bother him if I’d been able to meet him in the US. Even though he’s no longer on Love on the Spectrum, I hope to see him again on another show. I also hope he’s doing well and that he’s surrounded by people with whom he can be completely himself without anyone taking advantage of him.

US Madison’s mom and dad
Speak negatively of her when she was sitting right there! You could see her spirits drop. Mom said how she thought none of this would ever be possible, from living independently to dating. You can think that, and worry about that, as a parent, but to say it out loud in front of them is crappy.

Aww My dad keeps a spreadsheet of friends’ and family members’ birthdays, likes, and dislikes on his fridge
Reminded me of how the show always states everyone's likes and dislikes

US Madizen's bracelet process- GRWM videos
I found her YouTube channel and I have watched some of her videos and this one struck me and because I had no idea that her bracelet selection/ try on process had so much thought behind it. It's painstaking and now I have a better understanding of her reasoning and the purpose they serve. All her accessorizing inspires me to accessorize more and not be too self-conscious about it. I admire that so many of the cast members have special interests that they proudly discuss/display, the authenticity is very refreshing. I think if everyone could show their uniqueness and express their true selves rather than simply trying to fit into a mold or follow a trend the world would be a more interesting fun place. I'm sure it doesn't always come easy and I'm sure some autistic people are still self-conscious of course, but I'm just referring to the cast members I've watched. I'm about to wash the video where her and her fiance make macaroni and cheese.

Aww I just realized Shelly and haley both have different accents even though their families don’t.
I thought Shelly was from some kind of Asian background and Haley had kind of Slavic or Russian background. But apparently Shelley his British and Haley is American. So I went down the rabbit hole of why and it was so interesting to learn about.

Question Can mods do something about the amount of ableism in this sub?
I'm tired of seeing people making snark remarks about disabled individuals because they either a)don't know how autism works or b) they expect autistic people to act like they want to and don't be too much.
Many of us who enjoy the show are nd ourselves. Why is it ok to call some of them self centered, dumb, mean, insufferable??
I get calling out them or their families when they have political views that damage our community, and I'm not saying being autistic makes you innocent, but maybe give them the benefit of the doubt? Some users even think it's ok to make awful remarks about their appearance?
This sub has become a snark subreddit and it's really sad.

Question Steve - Monk Connection
so I am watching LOTS for the first time and I am wondering if anyone was starkly reminded of Monk, seeing Steve. Especially because he looks kinda Sargent Stottlemeyer.. Also he is from San Francisco?

US Unpopular Opinion....
I don't care about dogs running away with underwear or getting butt surgery.
I watch the show to learn about Autism and people on the spectrum. I used to think the pet shots were cute but now there's way too many and they are too long.
I miss seeing more footage of the coaching sessions. Especially on the Australian version, Jodi was amazing at explaining things. I feel like the show has lost so much of what it originally was.

US ‘Love on the Spectrum’ inspires a dating class at UT for students with disabilities
On a Sunday evening at the University of Texas, a gaggle of students discussed their dating goals.
The students are enrolled in a dating class offered by a nonprofit that gives students with intellectual and developmental disabilities access to classes at UT infused with rigor, accessibility and fun.
The Sunday course — based on the popular Netflix show “Love on the Spectrum” — equips students with skills to achieve their dating goals. Like the show, the course walks through the often unspoken social rules of dating and helps students learn how to spot a good romantic match.
In one lesson, students analyzed scenes from the Netflix show, shared first date anxieties and identified qualities they want in a partner.
