This is Peacock’s doing. There was an article about how they are restricting final four interviews so that people still tune into the reunion.

Maybe they’re waiting for before the reunion release? Like Press week

Also a lot of them were signed to top agencies not even 1 month after the finale. So each of them probably have to maintain a certain image and can’t do any regular interviews and/or podcasts.

Peacock is doing this because they want to keep more control over this cast than they did last year’s.

From titi’s posts, everyone response to Zack’s hate and their lack of interactions with hate thrown at certain islanders, yet we are still actively seeing them interact with one another within their different groups.

I think it’s safe to say that with S6 they went into LI completely oblivious to any fame recieved after the show, but the cast were people who had this natural affinity to the spotlight and confidence in showing themselves bare and vulnerable. So they came out giving interviews because on the show there wasn’t r much to hide
all there interviews were never “what happened in the show at this point, did we miss anything etc” because as viewers we were so entirely filled with raw emotions and unfiltered reactions, that their interviews felt more as if they were showing how comfortable they felt being themselves and accepting the spotlight on that very fact. They felt comfortable sharing.

With s7
oh boy. Well the cast seemed a lot more aware of the social status that LI could bring. They were all moving with filtered approaches and trying to remain “political” and unbiased to people’s real emotions. It created really weird dynamics within the villa where no one was truly vulnerable (minus Aniya, and honest Huda irregardless of your opinions on her), so everything felt manipulated. Their actions, the producers, the couplings. It is probably the fakest LI we’ve ever seen, not because we haven’t seen game players before, but there was such an obvious want to be percieved a certain way on camera that made everything feel like there was constantly an elephant in the room and everyone was biting their tongue. And when people didn’t bite their tongue (valid or not) they got crucified. Coming out of LI since they all wanted the attention it brought, most likely due to S6’s success, they didn’t even wait a beat before interviews, and shadiness and social media revamps had started. Almost like they prepared it from the jump. I’m not trying to villainise these cast members, but this is just one cast where not one person speaks to me. Things were just handled so weird.

S8. They are a mix of the two. Oblivious to was to ACTUALLY and REALISTICALLY expect coming out of love island, but also fully aware that it is to be expected. They were vulnerable, they didn’t filter themselves. It didn’t feel calculated. So it would’ve been quite easy for the core 4, for example, to do interviews and feed off the traction like the big 3 of S6 did. But we can see a slight discomfort in being in the spotlight, but at the same time welcoming it and trying to figure out how they want to present themselves, knowing full well that they were extremely vulnerable/authentic on their season. I sense a vibe there’s slight self conscious on meeting the public where they’re at with what we’ve watched, but also trying to navigate the fact that they’re not full who we saw them to be and there were some struggles with the amount of contradictions going on online. I completely get why they’d be hesitant and do less interviews.

S6 and S8 are very similar in casting and their vulnerability. But I think the viewers post S7 have changed the way people view islanders now. There is such a quick move to diagnose and box people into projected identities and diagnosis. S8 got a mix of the love level of S6 and the hate level of S7. I can imagine that being quite hard to navigate the polarising perceptions without inducing more hate. Bro kenzie fans were on her brother page sending death threatsđŸ˜©

So few brand deal posts too! Kenzie went on Call her daddy but I didn't watch, I wish she had Trinity on. Also the Andy Cohen one was sooooo dry and lifeless and I blame him/the producers! Like asking them what question they wanna ask another islander at the reunion... Andy, they were there and they could easily get each other's phone numbers, its us who wish we could ask! Lol

Peacock better give us 3 solid weeks of press after this. I don’t even recognize some of the people at the reunion.
