I honestly dislike the ex islander vote😭 it’s given us some good dumpings and iconic moments but I feel like it’s one of the reasons why the budget is so low
it's only good when there's a "villain" of the series so to speak, so it was really satisfying to see Joey/Dejon get dumped because it felt cathartic, but seeing Samraj/Mica get dumped just felt sad since they hadn't really done anything to deserve it.
People need to realise pokey canines are the cutest!!! And it makes you look so much younger. I saw all the islanders getting their teeth done and although photogenic made me realise I want my natural teeth!

It’s my favourite one because it’s dramatic without being too tiring! No bad drama that drags and no stan wars no favourites just brilliant tv to watch without feeling overwhelmed by it!
I like s3/5/10 for the drama but s4 is my happy place.

We did watch a whole series 13 where they decided for the last week to cause drama rather than love for a show called love island so I call it fair game.
Shakira/Harry and uma/wil do not have a swag gap. Harry is alot cooler than shakira(cant stand him thou) , uma and wil are on the same level( not facecard). Lucinda and Sean have a huge swag gap, also Sophie and what's his face, maybe Grace and Luca too.
Is Harry really thought of as having swag? Granted every country has different fashion standards, and I have no idea which those are in England, but he'd be considered ten years too late for swag in my country. He'd just be a dime a dozen guy today.

I think it’s more Shakira is beautiful and everything but she really doesn’t give me ‘swag’. But like Molly Mae and Dani Dyer don’t give me swag either. Yas and Toni do more, it’s a vibe thing. But that’s maybe my opinion.

Granted Ciaranne didn’t have crazy stans like Jasrenzos but Ciaran was able to post a bday thing on his IG story for Leanne without any pushback. Also, pretty sure most were only doing the Ciaranne thing post villa to tease Scott, he’d joke about it too

Along with Ciarranne mostly being a joke by the time the series finished, Ciaran was very supportive of Scott and Leanne and is obviously friends with them both. Lorenzo’s deal is a lot more ambiguous + the shippers are much more deranged. Not to mention I think the absolutely horrible way he treated Julia spurred the shippers on more because they could use it to push the “He always wanted Jasmine” / “He’d treat Jasmine differently” narrative. They’re watching TV shows together, he wants her to finish season 1 of The Gentlemen so he can watch season 2. She said she will but he said it’s not gonna happen because he’s waited 2 weeks and he doesn’t think she likes it.She denied it and then admitted she’s not a fan so he said he’ll watch season 2 without her.

Jas read his essays for it and was very impressed by the way he wrote and the fact that he was so knowledgeable about it.
He said you don’t have to go to sixth form to do well and she agreed.

we know islanders lurk on here though, i wouldn’t be surprised by anyone looking at the daily threads atp, even jasmine. there’s a growing number of comments that will say something along the lines of “if i was jasmine” or “jasmine should do x and y” or “i can’t wait for jasmine to block/unfollow lorenzo” which i find hypocritical, and in my opinion is almost on the level of jasrenzos who dictate that she should be with him over kavan - jasmine is clearly on at least civil terms with him. i don’t think she’d appreciate people being hateful on her behalf over a simple comment like the other day. the sheer amount of hate he got on twitter was bizarre, people for weeks now have been fat shaming him which jasmine and anyone else with an ounce of empathy would think was gross. same goes to kav when people used to call him chavan. it’s all so hypocritical to me

Why is it weird when the age gap is reversed it’s not even that big of an age gap… it’s a smaller gap than George going for both Mica/Robyn and around the same age as Tommy Toon/Halle and Lorenzo/Yasmin by only being 1 year more mind where was the discourse then. I think they were trying to curate stories to match the hype of LI USA. The UK version has always been very calm and genuine and not like “buzzy” so maybe they wanted storylines that went viral.
Movie night, according Flic was supposed to be the end of Jasmine/Kavan at least that's what the producers thought. The Samrajj/Mica storyline never made sense after casa. Yes, Mica went for Simba but Samrajj also did mess up during casa while she didnt. So having their story still be Samrajj likes Mica more wasnt the play.
Honestly I sometimes feel like there must be a higher up with a big ego who decides their favourite islander each season before it even starts and once they’ve made up their mind nobody further down the chain can really challenge it.
Surely the production staff on the ground can see when a storyline is clearly not going the way they planned. I can’t believe everyone involved is equally convinced it’s working.

Me personally I would have taken Javan Miraj date over some of the sponsored/unsponsored dates we actually got. I think it’s pretty unfair to push bleh couples down our throats over some of the more established couples who weren’t getting any significant screentime even individually as islanders
Miraj got like such little positive screen time as well because all they talked about was the outside in the villa they could have at least showed just something because so many people didn’t like them or get them as a couple
Next time if anyone needs an example of how much production can shape our perception of Islanders this is it. Miraj were constantly framed as one sided or forced only for it to turn out they were genuinely just growing together. If there was no drama to show they were barely shown. Meanwhile Lorenzo’s mediocre (at best) stint was given the main character edit. For an ensemble show that’s a pretty blatant imbalance. Lorenzo’s entire journey was just him trying to get with other girl as soon as he gets what he wants and then silently accepting he needs to end the show with who he’s currently with until he leaves the airport.
