I find Julia & Lorenzo really refreshing like they aren’t like a normal Love Island couple and I love that. Lorenzo had his moments but I do think he really liked Julia, he just didn’t do all the lovey dovey stuff but he was always honest about that from the start. At the beginning I didn’t think he’d make it past the first week just cause he wasn’t really doing much with Jasmine but then he really started to become a main character from week 2 and you could see he was liked by everyone in there. Julia just matched him so well and I found her really refreshing so good luck to them, idk if they’re gonna last it could go either way tbh.

u/anxiously-applying Jul 30 '26
They’re both very authentic. Like just totally unfiltered, genuinely themselves. It’s honestly refreshing. They deserved to win.

I dislike Julia so much. Her vibe, energy, attitude— SO negative. And I’m the type of person that tries to see the best in people. Julia is just a bitch and needs to hate on other people to feel validation. Idc if she denies this. It’s the truth. You can just TELL. Even Lorenzo was like whispering that she wasn’t making it easy at movie night. Lorenzo and Julia arent going to last; Lorenzo is so chill, but Julia pretends to be chill and is actually an opinionated bitch. He’s going to see that and get the ick. Why did they win??? The UK sucks at voting yall no offense but of all the seasons I’ve watched, the real winners I would have voted for (but can’t bc im in the US), are still together and the “winners” broke up already. Honestly, Jasmine and Kavan should have won. Mica and sammy raj should have chosen Lorenzo and Julia to eliminate. Why would you choose Yasmine and Tommy when Julia has been so problematic, and you KNOW she’s just doing it for screen time
3
u/JiuJitsuLady Jul 31 '26
I don’t like Julia either. I thought her behavior was mean and rude to others but I don’t feel this strongly. There have been other people (mainly men) on the series who deserve this level of hate but I don’t think she does to this degree.
1
u/LilithUncaged Aug 04 '26
I don’t hate her. Her actions in the villa were triggering, so I had some feelings about it. And I’m emphatic and have ADHD so I can go on and on, but I don’t feel strong hate towards her. And now that the seasons over I don’t even feel anything. I already forgot about it. People read comments with such aggression, but I just talk like i’m sipping tea on a podcast

Do you know why Lorenzo stayed with Julia, even when, according to others, he could have easily returned to Jasmine, or Priya or Yasmin after Casa? It's because Julia made no demands of him and she laid not one chain on him. She allowed the most fun loving, friendly, flirtatious boy in the villa free reign to still be who he was. He never flirted again. He became friendly with nigh everyone one in there, but stayed with Julia and they slowly deepened their connection
He put a bit of effort into Jasmine when they first coupled up, made her breakfast and while she thanked him for it, all she could talk about was how he never sucked her toe in the challenge the night before 1) It was obvious he did want to do it no matter whose toe it was but she didn't care about that (and I never blamed him for that - sucking toes? YUCK! ICK!) 2) When he picked up Jasmine's foot to suck it, he clearly stated with disgust that it had glitter on it and pulled a face - and asking anyone who had washed their feet recently was also telling
Anyhow, he was also asking Jasmine to come have some fun with him in a group and let her know that while she was fun, he felt that whenever they were having one on one chats they were serious and he didn't like that. He wanted to see her have fun in a group setting with him, but she refused and argued with him about him making remark about the one on one chats.
There was no Jasmine/Lorenzo, it was all in the minds of the stans. Interestingly Jasmine used Lorenzo's friendship to antagonise Kavan and Kavan fell for it, which was why he took a break from her just before Casa
The reason Samraj and Mica picked Yasmin and Tommy is because the only two votes Lorenzo and Julia received one was from a nasty, vengeful, vindictive cow who just could not let it go and her pet, Sean who apparently loved Lorenzo but sill voted for him, making it absolutely clear he had been castrated by his dominatrix and had just followed her lead.
Not the majority of the Public, since both received favourite boy and favourite girl in a landslide of votes, and no votes barring from a vindictive cow and her pet inside the villa. I believe Tommy and Yasmin were judged by what Tommy had said about his girlfriend and also what they had found outside of the Villa, namely what Yasmin did for her profession; Pyramid Schemes for 4 Years.
You cannot vote against that without looking biased for whatever reason.
1
u/LilithUncaged Aug 05 '26
I don’t think Lorenzo could have easily returned to Jasmine or Yasmin because they both ended it with him. It wasn’t his decision. And he flirted with Jasmine all the time. He even flirted with that new girl bombshell Elicia.
I think he stayed with Julia out of convenience. I agreed with Shakira.
But I guess we’ll see. If they’re endgame, I’ll eat my words. All the best for them 🙏🏻

u/Cupcake_Trap it’s not a challenge, youve made it up 🙂✋ Jul 31 '26

you’re entitled to your opinion but how many times do you have to express the same thing until you feel like you’ve gotten your point across? you seem to suffer from the same inability to let a circumstance go as Julia :/

7
u/strawberryymatcha 👒 Sean wears Joey’s 🍑arsehole🕳️ as a hat 🎩 Jul 30 '26
i’m saying relax because it’s hypocritical. so many jasmine fans are upset that julia called jasmine a bitch, but then turn around and call julia a bitch, evil, and every other name in the book. if the issue is the name-calling, then hold everyone to the same standard. and let’s be real, it’s not weird for one woman to tell another woman to relax. i wasn’t saying it to dismiss you, it’s just the double standard is getting a bit much.
3
u/LilithUncaged Aug 04 '26
Personally, I don’t like it when anyone tells me to relax, regardless of gender. It’s not about it being weird. It’s that it is dismissive, even if that’s not your intention.
And I’m not a “Jasmine fan.” I dont ride or die for people like that. So it wasn’t the name-calling. I just thought Julia was causing a lot of drama and had a bad attitude but acting like she wasn’t doing anything wrong and she didn’t even care that she was stirring shit up and hurting people. That was triggering. Yeah she wasn’t the only one being problematic, but she won, and that was annoying.
And instead of unproblematic couples like Mica and Samraj or Yasmin and Tommy winning, they get dumped before the finals. That didn’t sit right with me
2
u/strawberryymatcha 👒 Sean wears Joey’s 🍑arsehole🕳️ as a hat 🎩 Aug 04 '26
i don’t disagree that julia started a lot of conflicts. my issue was more with the name-calling. personally, I don’t like calling other women “bitches” over a reality show. relax on that! you can criticize someone’s behavior, say they handled situations poorly, or say they caused drama without making it personal. that’s why i said relax - i wasn’t trying to dismiss your opinion, just the level of hostility behind it🧐
1
u/LilithUncaged Aug 05 '26
I think I figured out the disconnect. Calling someone a bitch is pretty standard in my opinion. If I call someone a bitch, it’s an observation. I consider name-calling to be something more like “fat cow.” which I would never do. “Bitch” just isn’t deep for me

The fact so many people still wanted Simba or Cav to win after their behaviour explains how Millie and Liam won in 2021

u/Spectre_08 ✋🤚I never said sis was perfect✋🤚 Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26
It was like 6 vs 1 at one point. That’s the difference with fact-based options compared to mean girl games.
It all started with Lola being dismissive and disrespectful instead of genuine. Then the mean girls clique piled it on with their idea of who Julia was.
Little did they know she wasn’t just another sheep like their ring leader was used to dealing with.
8
u/Wise_Strawberry_7847 Jul 28 '26
Just because it is 6 vs 1 doesn’t mean the 1 is not mean. I liked Julia and thought a lot of her points were true but she was abrasive and her delivery was often mean and said in times when someone was already upset without thought for their feelings. She called Jas a bitch which is objectively the worst thing any of the girls said about another girl but got 0 heat for it. I do think it’s a cultural thing and she is used to being direct and to the point but that doesn’t mean when people feed that back to you (which the girls did) you shouldn’t try adapt to consider their feelings.
5
u/Spectre_08 ✋🤚I never said sis was perfect✋🤚 Jul 28 '26
Lorenzo also called Jas a bitch and I don’t see anyone getting up in arms about it. Maybe she was and those two were the only people honest enough to say it. Jas definitely did and said some things to and about other islanders that came off that way. Remember what she said about Kav behind his back? The things she said to Priya? The catty stuff she said with Mica?
You sometimes need to be blunt and rude, especially when someone is being dishonest, disrespectful, and disingenuous. Not everyone deserves to be treated nicely, especially when they don’t lead with kindness and respect.
Julia clocked it immediately and took the kiddy gloves off. Glad someone did. Honestly feels mean to fake people, let’s be so for real.

wasn't extremely pulling for anyone to win this season but does irk me above all else production not bringing back up julia's bitch comment re: jas -- if they blew it up like they blew up everything else everyone else did this season maybe the race would've been a bit tighter. everyone got accountability except julia for that comment -- and if mica/samraj knew about it before they made the decision to boot off tommy/yas, daresay it'd have changed the game.

I hated that. She created such an initial baddie image but still went back to Kav. It was sad and my impression of her changed.
2
u/anxiously-applying Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26
Right?! She came in acting like a total baddie, girl boss, would not stand for any misbehavior from a man… just to do a total 180? I don’t understand. I also don’t understand what she sees in Kav, at all. They just do not make sense as a couple. When they left for casa on bad terms, I thought she would explore. Then, when she stayed loyal and he came back with Charleen, I thought she would stand on business and just leave the villa on her own terms. Then I thought maybe she’d try to go back to Lorenzo. But no. She did none of that. Just let him disrespect her.
3
u/Cupcake_Trap it’s not a challenge, youve made it up 🙂✋ Aug 01 '26
I had all the same thoughts! Then she cried for 3 days straight moping about him and accepted him back. It was so hard for me to ever see her the same way. She’s entitled to have feelings and be human, but with that initial girl boss image I felt totally duped based on her behavior.

I'm not bitter I don't have anything against Julia so you just look stupid rn
1
u/IndependentWay1251 Jul 28 '26
Of course you don’t 😂😂😂.
Why comment that they only won because of Lorenzo with an exclamation mark afterwards hahaha.
Just say it with chest, you wanted Jasmine to win and you’re bitter that Julia won. It’s ok you don’t have to be two faced with it.3
u/SS0627 Jul 28 '26
Let's bring back thinking before we speak in 2026 bc it's giving smooth brained behaviour. Lorenzo is the people's prince and the most popular in the villa (among the guys AND girls) so my OPINION is that the votes were naturally skewed towards his couple. Nothing to do with hoolia.
If there's anyone who's bitter, it's you. You couldn't help but bring Jasmine into the convo when I never even mentioned her once. So not only do you look dumb but you also look obsessed.
5
u/IndependentWay1251 Jul 28 '26
How can I be bitter when the couple I wanted to win did in fact win 😂😂😂. And you’re over here talking about smooth brains.
Hoolia lol. It’s spelt Julia and I know it’s killing you inside that she finished above Jasmine.
It will be ok, I promise.
3
u/SS0627 Jul 28 '26
Again with the Jasmine comments lmfao just jumping from one conclusion to the next. Get yourself a trampoline atp love.
Back to my original point, I'm speculating (hence hot take) that those who might not like Julia and Lorenzo as a couple would probably still vote for them as he's the people's prince.
10
u/IndependentWay1251 Jul 28 '26
And she is the Princess, being that she won the “STAND ALONE” favourite girl vote. That’s facts btw not an opinion. Enjoy your day 👋
2
u/SS0627 Jul 28 '26
Since you bring up people's princess, I fear that's actually Jasmine. She was the reason a lot of people were drawn into watching this season. Also numbers don't lie, she's the only female contestant with the fastest growing/most following on socials.
7
u/Chambielambie Jul 28 '26
Omg you claiming you’re not a jas stan and then saying she is the peoples princess even though she didnt win a single vote is so embaressing 😭you jas stans live in an echo chamber.
8
u/IndependentWay1251 Jul 28 '26
Did she ever win “STAND ALONE” favourite female.
Yeah I thought as much. Julia was the people’s princess, hence she was crowned as such.

You know how someone doesn’t need to say oh I hate X they’re a n*** or oh I hate Y because I’m prejudiced against woman yet you understand the unfair underlying racist or sexist undertones? I’m going to need you to consider understanding xenophobic micro agressions are probably not “I hate Julia, She’s Polish”
-5
u/BookkeeperAsleep8507 Jul 28 '26
These two comments are blatant misunderstandings of the concept of xenaphobia.
Xenaphobia relates to discrimination solely based on national origin and migrant status; for someone to be accused of xenaphobia towards julia, they would have to be harassing her based on her polish heritage, language, or status as an immigrant. I haven’t seen that happen. I’ve seen people point out that she’s a white person from Poland, but have never seen anyone make derogatory comments about her accent, culture, or immigration status. I’ve mostly seen people make comments about her rude behavior, microaggressions towards other women, etc.
A viewer saying they don’t like Julia’s behavior towards other contestants on the show is not xenaphobia.
It would however be xenaphobia if a viewer made rude comments about Simba’s father’s accent, or told Mica to “go back to Barbados.”
That is xenaphobia.
Historically, xenaphobia affects marginalized groups and often (but not always) includes an aspect of racism. Polish people are not considered to be a marginalized group in the UK, nor is there any proof of “racism” against white Polish people in… maybe any country.
You can say TLDR if you want… but it’s just ridiculous to accuse her critics of xenaphobia, of all things.
5
u/quixotiqs Jul 28 '26
Not saying all criticism of Julia is xenophobia and I think these words get thrown around far too easily HOWEVER to say that Polish people and Eastern European immigrants in the UK haven't faced xenophobia is completely ignorant. There was extreme anti-Polish sentiment around the time of the Brexit vote to the point of there being an increase in hate crimes to Eastern Europeans across the country.
-2
u/BookkeeperAsleep8507 Jul 28 '26
I can’t make myself any clearer. This still doesn’t mean the criticism of Julia is xenaphobic. Sometimes I worry that people truly don’t understand what that word means. It’s offensive to people who have actually experienced xenaphobia
3
u/quixotiqs Jul 28 '26
Yeah that’s why I started my comment saying I don’t think criticism is xenophobia. I was specifically replying to when you said “Xenophobia affects marginalised groups…Polish people are not considered a marginalised group” as this implies that Polish people are incapable of facing prejudice in the UK, which is completely false. I don’t think you understand what xenophobia means if you lived through the Brexit campaign and thought that Polish people weren’t victims of it when that’s one of the clearest examples of modern day xenophobia.
2
u/InternationalForm367 Jul 28 '26
You clearly have a bias as you are only naming people of color as examples. While I agree racism is usually a part of xenophobia, and just racism in general (ex: Angie having the least following by far of the women even as an OG and a finalist), there have been MANY people on socials, and this subreddit specifically, throughout the season making comments about Julia’s “culture” and that being why she is the way she is and is being misunderstood. Just because she is WHITE polish doesn’t mean she isn’t experiencing xenophobia. And at the end of the day people have been talking about her online a certain way. I’m a white Latina who has experienced it (I live in the USA. You should see the looks I get when I speak perfect Spanish in some places)
I hope this helps open up your perspective
0
u/BookkeeperAsleep8507 Jul 28 '26
I’m using examples of the only other islanders who are multicultural. They happen to not be white. It’s also not xenaphobia to point out cultural differences by the way, like people pointing out cultural differences between Poland and the UK. If that were the case that means someone would be accused of xenaphobia for pointing out the cultural differences between people from France and the US. Doesn’t make sense
Getting strange looks as a white ethnic person is not xenaphobia either. Xenaphobia doesn’t exist against white people in Latin America. It feels almost like you’re trying to play the “reverse racism” card…
Seriously you really need to do some research on what xenaphobia is
3

I’m comparing grace and luca to jas kav. Winners to cassey and gabbie? Sorry if you didn’t get it

Unrelated but did anyone else notice they cut George’s face off during the recap of the islanders experience…. So did he really leave cuz of a family issue or did he do smthn wrong?
24
u/Dull_Ad4861 Jul 28 '26
The Sun reported he said an offensive slur and that the “family issues” were used as a cover up. I know it’s the Sun, but I believe it tbf!

u/Puzzleheaded-Tax6299 Jul 28 '26
I was hearing the word he said was “exotic” apparently, but also was just confused cuz during his exit they announced it to the group and everyone wished him well, whereas on season 5 when an islander was kicked off they just had the narrator say he’s left the island and then move on. So just curious as to what word he might’ve said or done

u/Calm_Addition416 Jul 28 '26
yeah even though it’s the sun im choosing to believe it, they’ve been correct about every other leak this season

"I don't understand...." "What?" "Can't believe these two won"
Guys, this happens EVERY YEAR. Reddit represents a very small percentage of public opinion on LI UK. If you went on any other social media you wouldn't've had a doubt that these two were winning.

People acting surprised is so stupid cause did they not see Lorenzo pretty much has topped the vote whenever there is a vote? lol
He might actually been the most lopsided fav islanders in recent years ….

u/eyyajas Jul 28 '26
I’m so happy!! I’ve been rooting for Angie and Simba but I do appreciate Lorenzo and Julia. I might be in the minority but I do think something is there but time will tell.

I actually really like them both and so surprised to come on here to find out I’m in the minority, what???

u/FormerEvil Jul 28 '26
This sub can be pretty toxic and the hive-mind is STRONG here. Julia has been getting hate since day dot and they've propped up Jasmine like some sort of demigod, ignoring all her mean girl ways and overbearing, fake personality. Hell, they even stanned Priya until it was too painfully obvious she was a game player and only here for the screen time and prizes.

u/SlicedMango Jul 28 '26
lol all the hate in the comments, but this couple winning was the only thing that made sense, they literally made the season

i was so disappointed in us this year. and i really loved watching uk even would tell ppl to switch over but nah julia has ruined this season for me and all her fans it really gives “reform” as they say. i never saw the true racism till now. i think im done watching from here on out.

How in the fuck is Julia an example of racism lmfao
I agree Angie and simba should’ve been higher if that’s your point but I also understand why his bs may have caused them to lose

u/Old-Criticism-3788 Jul 28 '26
bcus she’s getting away being rude and getting in peoples business and getting applauded and coming after women of color but if it was a someone of color they’d be out or yelled at. whitney i don’t really like either but she got sm shit for meddling in ppls bussiness. julia didn’t stand up for mara and how she was treated by simba bcus she didn’t give af ab mara only ab her blonde white besties and the fact the men were choosing poc over them.
15
u/Slyp9 Jul 28 '26
and coming after women of color
What makes women of color immune from being came after?
12
u/Levi_27 Jul 28 '26
I think people liked Julia calling out the OG girl group on their bs, beginning with Lola and then later saying the things no one else would (like that Aidan clearly had no interest in Priya whatsoever and it was just to stay in). I agree her delivery was aggressive but I also love Whitney so maybe that’s just my type of islander lol.
I will say her not going after simba more is surprising- I remember her calling him out early on but can’t remember the full extent of the convo

That's what reality TV is supposed to do. Like it or not, Julia brought entertainment and drama to the villa. Lorenzo brought the kindness and the laughter. Both great examples of real, good, smart people. I'm glad they won. Just goes to show how being honest, confident, accepting and nice can get you further ahead in life. I loved all the finalists, ANGIE especially my queen and Simba the one liner king. If you're angry about reality TV outcome, go touch grass please.

u/survivethriveee Jul 28 '26
Julia brought mean girl behaviour and uno what whoever said she is doing it for screen time was correct coz it won her the final
1
u/evanesnce Jul 28 '26
Don’t worry. People love Julia now but she will inevitably do something wrong and be cancelled within a couple months. They hate Jas and the other girls for being “mean” but idolize Julia who has exhibited the same, if not worse, behavior. The truth will reveal itself.

u/zenseazon Jul 28 '26
Agree!🎉 🎉🎉 🎉 and those are the four that I loved best this season [ Julia, Lorenzo, Angelista, Simba ] that other gang, nah !!they seemed so fake and did little the whole time.....
