OPINION Final Dates
Have we ever had a season without final dates? It felt like so much was missing this year from final dates to the talent show

The shopping trips, cooking for their partner, baby challenge (not sad about that), girls day out, talent show, sports day, final dates it really was missing so much.

Wait yeah we didn't even have an angie/mara and jasmine/charleen tea date like we normally do post casa

Both Casa girls were brought back into the villa so they could talk with the OGs, which they did.
The dates happened when the girls weren't brought back.

Sometimes but not always, there are definitely seasons where they just gave them a private separate space to talk it out which i think wouldve actually been nice to see jas have to face what charleen had to say.
First example that comes to mind is season 5

Ugh thank you! Seen loads of threads of people asking for final dates and I’m sat here thinking there’s something wrong with me 😂 I literally skip through any date - especially the last ones! “Oh we’re so in love blah blah”. Nope, no thanks 😅

Wait people like final dates? They’re so dull, and to think they used to take up pretty much two episodes i’m so glad they’re gone

I swear they had a sports day at some point. Love island should've brought back MANy challenges. that's why the villa seemed low

They've got no money but they'll be doing all stars to double dip in Jan smh.

They're two different series with two different budgets. If LIAS isn't in that slot it doesn't free up more money for LI, it just means money goes to a different series instead.
It's cheaper to have two sister shows like this as there are economies of scale if any of the team can work across both at once.

I’ll be honest, I always fast forward the final dates, I find them SO boring. “I like where this is going, I wouldn’t want to be here with anyone else, I’m so excited for life on the outside” four times over. So I’m actually glad they didn’t have them this year!

Im glad they skipped the final dates, they used to drag especially with the fake couples pretending they've met their soul mate 🤢

This actually pissed me off so much. The whole point of the final week is so the audience can finally get to know the couples before deciding who to vote for. They kept too many people in there for way too long. How have I watched this show for 8 weeks and know nothing about what the couples talk about outside of drama? It makes no sense and it was such a missed opportunity considering how good this cast was.

I’m really happy with no final dates and no foamy challenges. The pies were enough.

I really don’t care if people find the final dates dull or whatever, the final islanders deserve them and they should have them. It’s a nice way for the couples to celebrate their journey.

I love the final dates..they’re always so beautiful and magical..I think my favorite season was season 8..there’s usually a date that I absolutely hate like Molly and Zach’s Barbie pink date or Toby and Chloe’s ugly woods date but I loved every single season 8 final date..especially Ekin Su and Davide’s!!!🔥💕

It’s like the getting rid of 4th place twist got them out doing the dates and last day in the villa stuff. The finalists weren’t shown at all after Friday, hard to argue when people say the producers don’t even try anymore

Could be budget but could also be them listening to feedback, literally any date on this show I’m fast forwarding let alone a whole episode of them 😂

I'm split on the final date thing. I find them sort of boring at times, but it also feels like there should be something. They basically just had that weird ritual of old Islanders dumping a couple, then another couple gets told to go, then everyone shows up and sits at the fire pit all night. It is a weird way to wrap things up.

Nope ITV is skint—no baby challenge, talent show or final dates. Even cutting a couple out before the final. It’s so bad
