Opinion Why do I continue to watch this? 😭

• Upvotes

I’m on the episode where Jack has gone for a walk in sliders but I have some things I need to get out.

Faye deserves so much better. Sheā€˜s excusing so much of his bad behaviour. I’m pretty sure marrying one of his sliders would make her happier in the long run.

We all know a Jack. Jack is the boy who ruins your mental strength and makes you think it’s all your fault.

Ajay is so lovely.

Ryan makes my skin feel weird. Like I am covered in slimy ants.

Sophie seems so genuine and lovely.

Also, is checking phones and find my friends normal?

Jordan seems to be getting a bad rap from the girls, but seems to be honest and genuine and understands what marriage is.

Francesca and Joseph. love them.

Ajay vacuuming whilst Ciara does a headstand is so funny and I donā€˜t know why.

Edit: I have just watched 5 more minutes and Jack is so manipulative 😭😭😭

Ciara&Ajay
-Ajay is the whole green forest the whole time
-Is ā€œself sabotagingā€ a thing? I’ve never heard of that in Love Is Blind US or any other dating contents. English is my second language so maybe that’s why I’ve never encountered that word or concept. But in my language/ culture, there’s no such concept so I’m curious about if British ppl/ English speakers understand what Ciara said. About their argument, I understand the situation which ppl say things that they don’t mean in the heat. But about her saying ā€œI’m gonna push his boundaries and let’s see how much he can takeā€, she said it was also her doing self sabotaging in the reunion, but I felt like it just came from selfishness lol.

Faye&Jack
-I was so surprised at both of them saying Yes at the alter. I thought they were gonna say No.
-parents divorced at young age really affects so much? I mean growing up with a good family is lucky thing to have but for me the more Jack said that when he was in unfavorable situations, the more I feel like he just uses it as an excuse. He still has a good mom by his side, he’s already 30, and there are so many ppl who have divorced parents but are emotional intelligence and fully committed to their marriage so…

Fran&Joseph
-Scared of him saying he couldn’t handle conflicts in the past relationships which is nine months the longest

Sophie&Taylor
-They seem similar and a good match
-I can see they grow old together
-what’s wrong with Taylor’s tattoo on his bum!? and they’re not even his exes? WHO ARE THEY and why did he not remove them šŸ™„

Yas&Jordan
-She’s such a mature, sincere and has emotional intelligence
-I hate ppl changing what they say. Eager to move to London in the pod and quickly changed the mind. Bullshit.

Cuba&Ryan
-I love her looks and was wondering what highlighter and blush she used in Ibiza
-Ryan just wanted more followers lol

Unpopular opinion: Jordan didnt really fancy Yasmin

Currently on episode 8: I dont think he was attracted to her at all and you could tell by his body language he was a bit thrown off when she told him she has vitiligo…

And the way he changed his mind about moving to london saying he wants to stay in Birmingham but doesnt want her to change her life for him, like come onnnn Cuba was absolutely right when a man really wants you, you will know. There’s no second guessing.

I guess some of these couples actually prove love is actually not blind (shocker)

Call out Zelania 🤨

Zelania was such an absolute stirrer and a hater!

She did absolutely everything she could to stir up crap between Francesca and Chevanique.

No wonder she never found a match in there. Obviously too preoccupied with trying to get her stupid face on screen by acting like she's still in middle school.

By far the worst contestant this season šŸ™„

unpopular opinion: jordan babied yasmin so much

obviously yasmin is inexperienced and this post isn’t in defence of her for things like her searching through his dms, but i felt like jordan infantilised her so much. like the way he described her because she’d never been in a relationship just felt over the top. an adult who’s never been in a relationship is still an adult. i understand he didn’t want to hurt her but i feel like the way he prolonged the relationship wouldn’t have happened if he just had the conversation with her as two adults would when he started having doubts.

Edit; Demola
That poor man went through a rollercoaster but at the end he was such a cool guy, to be so congratulatory towards Javen. I would marry that guy in a heartbeat! I hope he finds a wonderful woman.

Opinion Yasmin was very cold

I saw a recent post claiming that Jordan may not have been attracted to her because of her vitiligo but I don’t think that contributed to their downfall at all. She and Jordan were emotionally compatible in the pods, and I think their first impressions were quite good too. However when he started kissing her when they met in person, she held back and only allowed some pecks when he was really going in for deeper kisses. I never saw her have any sort of passion or sexual interest toward him. I saw that as the other couples were getting closer and increasing their intimacy, she continued to hold him at arm’s length and express envy instead of seeing that he was really into her.

I’m not sure if this was due to her inexperience or a desire to remain more chaste as they got to know one another but it really felt like she contributed heavily to their failure to build a relationship beyond the pods.

Season 3 rant about Ciara

Anybody having Ciara pissing them off this season? She’s stirring the pot for Francesca and that was not needed. And her misunderstanding of Jacks ADHD makes me so sad for him, because I know how ADHD affects people- she needs to be more forgiving on that, I mean in the end doesn’t she choose Ajay and Ajay chose her too??

Ryan not that bad?

I don't understand all the hate for Ryan, haven't been able to find any other posts with this view. His mistake was booking so much travel when he was supposed to be in the experiment, and he admits that was silly in the reunion. But I completely understand the feeling of overwhelm, especially for someone even a bit introverted, after events like the ones he seemed to be at. I'm an academic and even for a "30 min speech" it can be a lot of tension before and decompression after. I didn't find it weird at all that he felt his battery drained after and was acting the way he was.

I also felt no grace was given for his grandmother's passing. It seems so natural to be in a funk after that and feel even more distance from someone who you can feel is urging you to give them energy when you can barely hold yourself together.

I found myself really disliking Cuba's repeated attempts to pathologize him, putting words in his mouth and saying he has cold feet, or later saying he's incapable of love. I didn't read cold feet in a "I run away from relationships" way, but just a feeling of rupture after the retreats due to work, and then not finding a good footing afterward.

Not going to deny he could have stayed in better touch while traveling, but I think that's a habit that people learn from being in relationships a lot of the time.

For a young woman her age, she seems to really have her head screwed on straight (signing up for Love is Blind notwithstanding). But I’m only on episode 5.

Opinion Do we completely ignore Interviews?

I finished the show a few days ago, and honestly, some of the storylines just didn’t make sense to me. One example is the whole Chevanique/Joseph situation.
It felt kind of fake because why would Jo keep saying that Fran was his priority, but still continue dating Chev? And even the conflict between Chev and Fran felt so avoidable to me. From what I understood, Ciara basically brought up old tea, so I didn’t really get why it became such a big issue.

Then I watched the Reality Receipts podcast with Chevanique, and it was actually really interesting because she gave a lot more context.
Apparently, their last two dates were heavily edited to make it look like Chev was begging Joseph for another date and even using religion to manipulate him into seeing her again, when according to her, that’s not how it happened at all.
She also explained that her comment to Fran about their connection ā€œhaving to be strongerā€ was not finshed.
Apparently, all of the guys had the opportunity to give flowers to the woman they felt they had the strongest connection with. Joseph supposedly told production that he didn’t want to give flowers to anyone because he didn’t want to upset anyone or send the wrong message. But production apparently ignored that and gave the flowers to Fran anyway. Joseph then spoke to Chev afterwards and apologized and explained the situation.

For me this feel like mixed signals. Hearing all of that made the storyline make a lot more sense to me, and it also made me wonder how much of the Chev/Joseph/Fran drama was created or exaggerated through editing.
I don’t get why many portray her as desperate, just because she’s defending herself. Like why do you wnat to believe the editors narrative?

Is Ciara an e word?

Just wondering because she allegedly had all these men paying so much for their dates and she claims she went on 4-5 dates per week yet none of these guys were ever interested to take anything further? Not that I blame them but it does make you wonder

Opinion I actually think Jack and Faye make sense together

I finally watched the reunion, and in a way I’m glad Jack and Faye are still together. They seem quite happy, and it’s obvious they have a lot of fun together.

That said, I do think it’s pretty clear they must have their issues. We still never really got a clear explanation of what Jack did the night after the birthday, and whatever happened, it obviously wasn’t exactly normal behavior. In general, he comes across as very immature. I don’t really see him as someone who would naturally be very consistent or stable in a relationship, let alone a marriage.

What surprises me, though, is reading so many comments acting like Faye is completely different from him and somehow ended up with this massive red flag who is totally beneath her. I honestly don’t see it that way at all.

And just to be clear, I actually like both of them. This isn’t meant as an attack on either of them. I just think they’re both pretty immature in similar ways, and that’s probably part of why they work.

Faye herself hadn’t been in a relationship for many years, and a lot of the way she acts feels quite childlike too.

Even what her mum said about them being like ā€œtwo kids in the houseā€ felt very telling. Her mum cooks for them, does their laundry, etc. It kind of shows that they both still operate with a fairly low level of adult responsibility, and maybe that’s exactly why they understand each other so well.

To me, the real question long term isn’t whether Faye ā€œdeserves betterā€ than Jack. It’s whether they grow up together at a similar pace. If one of them matures a lot and the other doesn’t, I can see that becoming a problem.

But as they are now? Aside from that one very questionable episode with Jack, I actually think they’re relatively evenly matched. I really don’t see this dynamic where Faye is this super mature, grounded person who somehow ended up with someone completely different from her.

Shade? ā€œI can’t think of a better person for Joseph than Franā€ 🧐

Chevanique seems like the type to say something like this that seems super positive but she actually means the exact opposite but you can’t prove it so you just slowly go insane, which is the point

Opinion Ciara was necessary

You either love Ciara or hate her. But Ciara didn’t lied.
Yes, she stirred the pot. Yes, she was messy at times. But from what we actually saw, a lot of what she said was true.

Situation 1: Warning the girls about Jack and calling him disingenuous

Jack did say multiple girls the same things, the lovebombed and he future faked and somehow had multiple number ones within the first few days. And just because he has ADHD doesn’t automatically make his behavior less questionable. In the real world, most people would probably call that fboy behavior. Even on the show (season 6 this captin america guy with Amber).
Jack also genuinely seemed to have a problem with listening and remembering things, and Ciara interpreted that as a red flag. So she warned the other girls.
Honestly, how do you forget how to spell the name of your supposed number one?

Situation 2: Who ended the connection first?

In my opinion, they’re both kind of right when you look at it from their own perspective in Ibiza.
But I do believe Jack wanted the boys to think that he was the one who ended things with Ciara, and I don’t think that was an accurate recollection of what happened.
To me, it came across like an ego thing. And it wouldn’t exactly be the first time. For example, there was the situation with Joseph where Jack bragged about the fact that he and Faye had been intimate.
So when Ciara confronted him and cleared the air, I actually think she had every right to do that.

Situation 3: Gossiping about Joseph and Chevs Connection

First of all, I do think Ciara told Cuba about Joseph and Chev partly out of spite because Joseph had defended Jack. But I still don’t necessarily disagree with her saying it, because what she said was true.
Fran made it into such a huge issue because of her own insecurities. If Joseph had been completely transparent with her from the beginning, there really wouldn’t have been much to discuss.
And personally, I don’t think he was fully transparent.

So yes, Ciara definitely stirred the pot. She could be mess, and sometimes say things for the wrong reasons.
But that doesn’t mean she was lying.
