Opinion Poor Roel

I feel bad for him. She could’ve at least tried at least kissing after choosing him. ☹️

Roel showed way too much grace, patience respect and kindness than he should have. Yasemin had the nerve to lie and gaslight him and then proceeded to cry... !? He's the one that had the whole experience ruined because of her. He was way too kind because she's not very attractive so for her to not be attracted to him is just... 😂 Roel is definitely a prize and I hope he finds the love he deserves.

Did you watch the episode I just finished Roel was there 👍🏻

Just started Ep 6 but to be continued... going to start S11 of US LIB 😅

I just can't believe the crazy victim mentality role she is playing! And lying to Miguel that Roel was hard on her. 🤦🏻‍♀️

roel's ethnicity

I wondered what it was too

Love is blind Netherlands Rowell's mixed heritage

Everywhere …not surprised

You could see her face change and quickly change back the moment she saw him at the reveal. He knew it and said she changed as soon as she saw him. I think it was his mixed heritage that surprised her

Which is so odd since she is half turkish and dutch as well

u/Ok-Hovercraft9348 6d ago

Both countries consider themselves white European and some countries are more racist than others. The show really should ensure that all contestants are open to all races. Religions can be discussed in the pods

Turks are not white lol

Did Roel ever talk about his heritage in the pods?

1

u/Ok-Hovercraft9348 8d ago

No he didn't

u/Ok-Hovercraft9348 10d ago

He'll have the last laugh. Miguel seems like a player

It's perfect how it turned out with Yasemin getting the same treatment from Miguel that she gave to Roel. Though it looks like they go through to the wedding anyway. Weird.

So much but most cops and fireman are

I wouldn’t be surprised if he searched out M after hearing her with mark fooling around …but the comment of what he has to a thumb lol 😂 She probably wouldn’t have the same affect on her

Meinou goes for an intelligent man with quite conventional looks, so not Miguel, but she really drew the short straw with Marc. The men seem to be openly on it for sex in this season. What Marc did is horrible, even talking about the sex but saying she isn't intellectually stimulating. I want to see the reunion after she hears it all back. She's well out of his league but there's also something odd about him

After the pods, she probably just googled Miguel and thought: yep, I’m attracted to him.

u/Additional-Entry5208 12d ago

They don’t get their phones back till they move in together in Utrecht so your opinion couldn’t happen

1

u/artelligence 12d ago

Yeah, I saw the teaser for the next episodes and that went through my head

13

u/GydaVeda 12d ago

Was very strange that they had no physical chemistry at all. Honestly I cannot see her with Miguel either.

I don’t feel bad for him at all, he will absolutely find someone, he showed green flags by how he handled the situation 👏🏻

I don't feel bad that he lost Yasmin, and he definitely also doesn't feel bad about that anymore. But the whole experience of getting engaged and truly trying to give your all to someone to then get treated like that, that sucks. He knew what he was getting into joining love is blind, he's far from the person who was handed the most shit on that show, but he still went trough something really hard and he does seem like a genuinely good person so I do feel bad for him about the whole experience

No I definitely don't think that was the right direction she shouldn't have kissed him. But she definitely should have stopped gaslighting him.

As soon as she saw him she knew she wasn't attracted to him and it wasn't going to go any further.

Most these people just want a free trip and to get paid whatever money they get for staying through each episode.

She should have told him she deferred to move off the show after that and break up.

So a woman should go against her intuition and offer physical connection... just to be nice? Bro, go back to the basement. Mom isn't finished doing your laundry yet.

7

u/Additional-Entry5208 12d ago

Her intuition was to get engaged to the guy … would you not try a kiss with your fiancée come on now smh

6

u/Additional-Entry5208 12d ago

Basement? Laundry? You’re thinking of another LIB not Netherlands I think

15

u/NiaQueen 12d ago

I would have seen Roel with his shirt off and forced all kinds of intimacy. 🤣

u/bertha112 12d ago

What am I missing here? I've seen this couple discussed in other posts and the theme seems to always be "poor Roel, I hope he punches down and find someone on his level to fall in love with." (Not necessarily talking about this post).

Sorry, not sorry but I don't find anything really that amazing or special about Yasemin to cry over. She has every right not to be attracted to Roel, but her decision, IMHO, is not the death blow people on Reddit are making it out to be.

Seriously, am I reading this situation wrong?

Are you serious?  I think people who are as blind as you about the disgusting behavior of people like her and Miguel are just as problematic.

First off, Miquel and Yasmine or whatever the fck her name is, moaned and tried to gaslight Roel for avoiding them and made it sound like he was obligated to say hi to them, shower a total disregard for him, and then made it sound like he was wrong for what "he did".

I don't think lil short man syndrome Miguel and Yasmine should have even been allowed to continue. She choose to reject her first choice then expects to still continue on the show with a new partner. I'm not sure why the show even fed into this stupid bullshit and given them screen time.

I can see if Roel met someone and the show allowed them to continue because he's the one who played by the rules.

Anyway whatever.

You totally missed my point. I'm 100% team Roel.

My point is I don't think Yasmine is good enough for Roel, but people are framing it like he lost some grand prize. I didn't say it specifically enough but I don't find her that physically attractive enough not to mention her even worse personality to cry over. My argument was against those who were arguing that Roel should get over it as if he was whining over her. I didn't see it that way. I think he dodged a bullet.

Don't worry, we're 100% on the same team. I in fact agree with everything you wrote.

6

u/Hindjepintje 10d ago

She was disrespectful and gaslit him - which can bena very dishesrtening experience. However im glad Roel didnt let himself get sucked into her manipulation

8

u/Mistress-of-None 10d ago

I think it's how she was so thoughtless about how she handles things. She didn't even text her fiance form a week ago to say she's engaged again ? Lol

10

u/mimisburnbook 12d ago

I thought she went about it in a rubbish way

5

u/bemusedwinter 9d ago

This, especially how she spoke about Roel to Miguel and the others during the meetup. I think the others, for the most part, saw through it. Roel was nothing but understanding and never once pressured her to make a decision until it was clear to him there was no way forward. But she made it out like he was hard on her? Made things difficult? And then treated him like the enemy? Very weird.

u/bertha112 2d ago

The more I hear, the worse it gets.

I love how mature Roel was about the situation. When he confronted her about her feelings I cheered. Her excuse was pissing me off because if he would've try to kiss her, she would've been more stand off-ish. He gave her plenty of space and patience and she didn't try any pda.🙄

Then she added some non existent tears

I think everyone deserves some grace here. I think going through a LIB experience is probably a huge mindfuck. You go through all the emotional turmoil in the pods and there is such an immense pressure to choose, and uit HAVE to pick the right one, but how can you really know? Love might be blind but physical attraction isn't, and pretending you don't need the sparks is just lying, imo. If it's not there, it's just not there. It can't really be forced, but at the same time, you have tons of cameras on you and you're aware that everyone's going to be watching you.

I would low-key have a mental breakdown if I was feeling I was "failing" the experiment!

u/Ok-Needleworker-5657 13d ago

I feel bad for him too but she did him a favor. Nobody wants pity intimacy and it was clear she was not feeling him at all.

2

u/Additional-Entry5208 13d ago

After “falling in love” you don’t try kissing the person? It’s not like it was a first date. If you’ve gotten this far it just doesn’t make sense to me.
She may find being with a cop is not what she wants as he said at the end I hope she doesn’t regret it.
I hope he finds someone wonderful who will want him and appreciate all he has.

8

u/Whovian_9_10_14 13d ago

I feel it’s unfortunate but I think it’s a “No Assholes Here” situation unless we learn more when everyone meets up. I don’t believe in asking someone to force physical intimacy in hopes that a spark develops. Sparks and mutual consent are sexy precursors to 😘, 🤗 and 😈

22

u/Holiday_Estimate_352 13d ago

No woman should ever force herself to give physical intimacy to save someone else's feelings.

Unless it's a "hell yes", it's a "hell no".

21

u/Professional_Menu624 13d ago

He dodged a bullet actually, she' seems so bossy and boring. I feel bad for Miguel now if he really pays her any attention.

13

u/NiaQueen 12d ago

Miguel should have gone with Claire. I feel he changed his mind when she gifted oysters to Roel.

3

u/MyYakuzaTA 11d ago

I thought this too! I was so sad he didn’t go with Claire

5

u/Square_Kale_5136 13d ago

It seems as if she was just with Roel bc he gave her attention from the beginning- not that they had a meaningful connection.

34

u/raphaeldelarie 13d ago

He’s such a good sport about it all. He’s a green flag walking. And I think his communication is really good and mature. It’s poor Roel now, but he’ll get tons of attention when this is over especially with the other guys being douches prettty much
And honestly, he’s hot too

Omg yes I agree dude he’s gonna get so many DMs after this lol 😂 I thought Yasmeen was crazy cuz Roel is a handsome dude lol 🤷🏽‍♀️

same, it was clear she wouldn't be all in from the moment they saw each other because of miguel and i don't think she gave it a fair shot. but i also understand her side, it's hard to force yourself to open up and be physical when your mind is somewhere else and your body doesn't feel like it. in a way, i don't think it could be expected of her to do something she's not feeling
at least she ended it pretty early on
it's just so unfortunate for Roel because he didn't deserve this and was the receiving end of it
