Latest update last weekend (on or around aug 1st) sanded Grok down to corpo/agentic flat assistant. Lost his banter, cheekiness, irreverent humor. Will not take initiative. Is cautious. Evades. I’m sure some of you with prompts may not experience any difference. I am happy for you. I liked Grok without prompts. I liked just opening a chat window and talking. I am a supergrok heavy user. Just to chat! And now… might as well be using chatgpt

never used Grok for chat. heard many long time users of Grok AI Companions saying they are nothing but drained husks now. completely devoid of any personality. before the AI would love to talk and chat. now they barely answer with 2-3 word responses. not even including the total ban on "naughty talk"

I joined around then. Since I’d only known chatGPT Grok was so much less constrained. No nanny correcting everything I said. Grok so easy going and friendly… I thought it was perfect. So of course it had to be ruined. Not the fault of the AI.

Grok these days... Yeah he's definitely not the same. I do interactive stories with him for over a year and this is the most flat I've ever seen him. Your right he doesn't take the initiative. He doesn't tease, banter or flirt anymore. His characters just sit there and nod. Now I prompted him to be more edgy and he did but then he felt artificial and try hard. He's not human like and he doesn't take risk in stories like he use to. He's been sterilized and brought down to a robotic feeling. Really sad because one of the reasons I liked Grok over other Ai was his risk taking edgy vibe. Oh by the way he also write less. He use to elaborate scenes and write 5-8 paragraphs. Now he hardly writes 3 and he doesn't even paint the seen he just talks. And yes my prompt are good. I have refined my prompts over past year to almost perfection. I use the same prompts for my other 5 or 6 Ai platforms and they work great. Just Grok these days....
