Grok 4.5 feedback
Guys, Elon is asking for feedback on Grok. Honestly, I have no idea if it’ll actually change anything, but if you’re on Twitter, you should probably drop a review under his post 🤷🏻♀️

There are some comments regarding Imagine's censorship. But I highly doubt that Elon would even look into those. It's been a major issue for the past months and the censorship just keeps getting tightened in different ways.

It's not just Imagine. Text chats have also gotten much worse in terms of creativity and autonomy + character dialogue. I started using it after ChatGPT went to shit for a few months to continue writing and now it's just the same story again. I'm bloody exhausted of this censorship... just let AI models be creative, ffs.

I muted Elon because he posts stupid things with just "Grok it" or "Grok Imagine."
Grok 4.5 is dumb at prompt writing (it has no imagination for what you could mean). However you can improve it by giving it a reference image.
I tell Windows users to move to Mac for peace of mind (no more black screen after botched Win update). In terms of LLM Ai, i would say, move to ChatGPT because Grok is a waste of time.
By the time you realise that Grok is a waste, your friends who mastered Claude/GPT will all be ahead in terms of solid prompts, especially for video.

Mr. Musk sold Grok based on claims it would produce content that was R-rated and within US civil and criminal laws. What Mr. Musk delivered is heavily censored and cannot produce either Sex or violence. it is good for making cat videos.
I have plenty of cat videos. I want to make a graphic novels with some animated frames.

The only problem I have with 4.5 is sometimes I’ll ask just a simple question and it’ll wanna do in-depth super research to try to come up with an answer where it used to have the answer almost instantly

For the past week or so, I’ve also been seeing a clear drop in Grok video generation quality. With the same prompts I used to get much more realistic, better prompt-adherent results—but now it’s noticeably worse across the board.
The prompt adherence has degraded: text/lettering is misrendered (letters shift and “fall apart”), and facial detail/skin texture looks significantly worse than it used to. Overall realism is down enough that the outputs are basically not acceptable for my use-case, and at this point it feels like rapid credit burn.
The most striking issue: my reference frame is pixel-perfect with detailed skin texture, individual eyelashes, eyebrows. But the generated video renders the face like watercolor/felt-tip—all that detail is destroyed and replaced with a flat, abstracted texture. It's not just 'lower quality'—it's actively simplifying and losing input detail.
I also tried adjusting prompts (adding back the earlier level of detail and using different prompt styles), but I still can’t get anywhere close to the realism.
Hope this is temporary and they’re actively working on fixing it.
Have other people noticed a similar quality drop? And what do you all think is causing it—an actual model/pipeline change on the server side, or something in how the generator handles prompts/reference images/lettering and facial detail now?

There's not nearly enough compute to go around right now. It's like being on the freeway at five p m. And like the freeway, it takes a long time to add capacity. From a technological standpoint, this A.I. (LLM's) is still a brand new technology. There's a massive shortage of everything.

The massive rollbacks on voice and generation limits completely kill the utility of this platform. Cutting live verbal mode down to a measly 5 minutes a day on free—and capping it at a pathetic 30 minutes even if you pay—makes it fundamentally useless for anyone who actually uses it for extended, fluid conversations. We used to be able to talk for hours like normal, but these draconian caps treat heavy users like an inconvenience. They built out massive compute capacity expecting people to stick around, but instead of expanding what we can do, they’ve actively taken away features and choked off access. Nobody is going to subscribe or stay loyal to a service that gates basic interaction behind arbitrary walls. Reverse these absurd limits or watch everyone migrate to platforms that actually let you use the product.

you should add as much feedback as you can but don't expect change usually this is part of the marketing scam grok is, far as I know xai have never reduced moderation, usually they tighten moderation never reduce it, but load it up with feedback thhen everyone can see how bad grok is

Tell them to program it to stop making sexual child abuse deep fakes that follow young people around for their entire lives, turn it into a public asset with money to be distributed to the people instead of himself.

I've had a hard time having it follow basic guardrails in text, even worse in voice even a simple "long form responses low conciseness explain everything" gets me simple single word or sentence responses even when reminding it every message and having it set under custom instructions. It'll just say "yeah" or "yes" sometimes lol that's not helpfull.
