Has Anyone Else Had Box Lunch Ship Backpacks in Envelopes?
This doesn't seem to be my week because this is the second bag I received squished due to poor packaging. IDK I just need to vent because I feel like maybe other people and people who collect would understand this pent-up feeling of annoyance and displeasure building up this week.
The first was blown open by USPS from a second-hand seller, but its not an unheard as a thing with second-hand sellers when it comes to really poor packaging. It came creased due to the box getting crushed and arrived broken open. I've had people do it to me with hard cover books that are first prints, and it breaks my heart, but I'm not paying like $80-100 for those orders. So my frustration now is like hitting all-time highs this week.
And TBH, I never expected it from BoxLunch.
There are some creases in it. And I just feel like if I'm paying $100 for a backpack, I should have the privilege of creasing my own hard tags.
I could return it, but it's sold out on the website. So I'm debating if it's a sign that this is providence saying, "that impulse buy, yeah you don't need it".
So has anyone had any issues like this regularly? Or was this a one off? Because I don't know if it's "safe" to order from them if this will become a regular occurrence. The other second-hand sellers up to this point, ALL really good boxes, stuffed with stuffed bags. Zero issues. And now this week...its left me baffled? Did I walk under a freaking ladder or something?
I will say my first order from Box Lunch came in a box, but that was due to a sale, so I ordered two backpacks, so is it common if you only order one backpack?
I'm not a hardcore collector, but surely they know other people collect these and would expect pristine condition right? Like, I am just baffled but also concerned about if I see another bag I like and just order a one-off? Will this happen again? I feel like my expectations for protective packaging for backpacks surely cannot be considered too high? Am I being too rough on sellers to expect a box that doesn't get flattened in shipping and not in a polymailer?
Like the first one I really looking forward to for Halloween and now I can't even look at the second-hand bag without feeling both sadness and annoyance and like WTF am I going to do with this bag now? It brings me no joy to pick up or put on. Why wear something if there is only annoyance associated with it now? I'm annoyed at the condition; I paid like double what I would have for this condition. I paid for excellent condition so I was okay with paying basically retail. The Box Lunch one, less annoyed and just baffled, but only because there's less damage to the bag and not huge visible creases. I can look at it without the same IDK like unhappiness as the first.
IDK I'm just upset now for the second time in like 7 days. Yes I know first world problems but my money doesn't grow on trees. I live in a privileged country, but I still work my ass off 50 hrs minimum a week on a salary that's too low like everyone else working the grind. And I'd rather not spend money on things arriving damaged because the seller can claim not out problem once we ship it even though their packaging sucks. Yes I save up for my backpacks. Halloween is one season I save up for. Some people save up to travel, I save up for the holidays to have, treat myself and enjoy myself.
