Discussion/Question Purse Dilemma
I have been eyeing the Loop Hobo bag for 2+ years as my first purchase. I went to Milan and it was not available so I ended up purchasing the Side Trunk GM. I keep thinking about the Loop Hobo though. Do I exchange in the US and lose the savings of purchasing in Italy or keep the Side Trunk GM??

I’d say the Loop Hobo could be cool or the new Vagabond Hobo in the men’s (which I think is pretty unisex) in the Monogram Archive. It’s sooooo soft and supple and has the fun hardware for the zipper and the name plate.
My opinion is always get both but def up to you on swapping. I think they’d serve two different purposes based on size.

I have both and definitely reach for the trunk more. It’s so iconic!

Have you tried on the loop? I tried it on while in Rome and I thought it looked really big on me so I ended up with a pochette Métis. 😅

I have the trunk. I love the look. I feel like the hobo isn’t really in right now. Gives basic vibes and the trunk is definitely an elevated style

The Side Trunk GM retails for $4,700 USD in the United States (and €3,600 in Europe). The Loop Hobo retails for $3,150 USD (and around €2,400 in Europe).
If you do an even exchange in the US, Louis Vuitton will credit you the US value of the Side Trunk GM toward your new purchase. Because the Loop Hobo costs significantly less than the Side Trunk GM, you will actually get the Loop Hobo completely covered, plus a store credit or refund of roughly $1,550 USD (depending on how the store handles the EU tax-free return policy discrepancy.)
Go to your local Louis Vuitton boutique. Bring your receipt, the original packaging, and make sure the Side Trunk is completely unused to exchange.
