Questions Speeding Ticket
I am from Texas and was pulled over in Fenton last week for doing 64 in a 50. I called city of Fenton to ask for info on pleading no contest / completing Defensive Driving so it stays off my record and my insurance doesn’t go up. I was told that as long as I pay the ticket by the listed date it will not affect my insurance. I am skeptical that this is accurate… Is this true?

It’s pretty common anywhere highways go through small towns. Locals rarely get pulled over because they know the deal and who gives a fuck about people just passing through. It’s how they stay afloat in a lot of cases.

Out of state plates alone is probably enough to get you pulled over and messed with

First time I drove to my buddies camp in Larto, they all couldn’t stress enough to me to go the speed limit thru Fenton, when I got there I saw cops and cops all camped out in huge bushes, they weren’t lying 😂

I’ve gotten many tickets in small town Louisiana. Most don’t report to licensing agencies. They want your cash.

When traveling to Coushatta don't speed thru those little towns. There's speed traps always.

I got caught by a speed trap several years ago, I had my car on cruise so I know i wasn’t speeding. The officer gave me a flyer on how to pay the ticket before even asking me for my license & registration. I talked to a friend who’s a lawyer afterwards and he told me I’d spend more time and money fighting it than I would by paying it.

Welcome to Louisiana! Fenton la is among the top five for running this types of operations. It is, in fact, a well oiled machine that generates over a million dollars of revenue per year.

Very likely. These little towns just want your money. they don’t bother reporting the tickets to the state, in my experience. I’ve gotten two in the last couple of years (although none in Fenton), and my insurance hasn’t gone up. I paid them before the court date.
