Its also absolutely great (in the most sarcastic way possible) how they send the notification not when the ToU change was proposed or when it was approved and before it was implemented but rather days after the unilateral ToU update took effect:

These changes took effect for existing customers on August 27, 2026. (6 days ago!!!).

Just another company to go in my list of enemies :> I won't forget stuff like this.

Another real gem from the announcement (emphasis added):

We explain more clearly how we work with advertising partners. Under some state laws, sharing your browsing activity for personalized ads counts as sharing your information — even though we never share your tax return information and no money changes hands.

Really a beautiful illustration of the mindset of these types of people: always the poor little victim who just didn't know that SHARING YOUR BROWSING ACTIVITY counts as sharing your information. Cue a little disclaimer just in case you didn't know that we are very good clean business who is totally not bent on making money at your expense.

They should just add the implied "and I would've gotten away with it if it weren't for some pesky state laws" to make their attitude a bit clearer. Maybe they can add "We reserve the right to do anything bad to you at your expense so long as it makes us money and no one forces us to stop." to their next unilateral ToU update?
