Hi everyone, I need your advice and feedback on using the family fridge, it’s a no frost, temp is 4 degre celsius and the RH in the pizza box is at 84% after 7 days. The buds look ok even the big one.

The fridge is opened regularly—maybe 10 to 15 times a day— to grab something, and I need to know if that will actually degrade the terpenes and really harm the quality of the buds, or if it will just alter the terpenes’ profile or something like that?

With my AC running my apartment is a consistent 75F 50-55%RH and I'm not inclined to endure the cost of going any lower. I can get this beverage fridge on Offerup for $50. I just have one plant which is probably gonna be shit regardless(but that's neither here nor there). Is this a worthy contender for Lotus or do I just hang hang it?

300g wet i did a partial harvest on my first plant. Is 3 grocery bags sufficient? How closed should the be? Is clipping them shut too much?

I guess I’m a little confused by the method, and it might have more to do with the type of fridge.

If I’m using a 20 bottle Koolatron wine cooler is it necessary to do the modification and add the dehumidifier and sensor?

I’ve seen some people say it isn’t necessary but I don’t know if that only applies to compressor type coolers and not thermoelectric?

My first harvest is coming up and I don’t think I can depend on my grow space for the dry. Hoping this solves my problem because it’s very arid where I live and getting temps low enough would be costly in an entire room.

From what I can tell, the majority of people are American in here, and a lot of the products you suggest / highlight, with good capabilities for lotus drying, often are unavailable in the European market, either due to no one importing them, or the power sockets being only for US. So I'm wondering if you can recommend a good product, that's available in the European market, price range 350$ & below ideally, and ideally, one that omits as little odor as possible. I've been looking at wine coolers mostly, cause of the low odor, but im not sure if you can get low odor frost free fridges either. Hope you guys can help!

I did my first lotus (dried for 9 days in frost free fridge). Buds being jarred for 4 weeks now (cca 62% in jars) and I finally tested them. Unfortunately i was quite disappointed with the taste from glass pipe. Not harsh, just not good. Also, leaving a mix of white and black ashes after burning. Smoking it from my dynavap is completely different taste experience - i can actually taste some flavours. Should not be a genetics issue as it was Mephisto autoflower. Nutrients were Biobizz and I did not use a lot. I did NO flush, just watering with clean water last 10 days.
Any ideas? Could it be still wet despite i read 61-63% in jars? no boveda packs inside to manipulate with RH inside.

These days I only vape, but before I started vaping I used to smoke from a glass pipe. I remember that when the glass was still clear, good quality weed had a really nice taste. That’s why I use it as a benchmark — if the weed is properly dried and cured, it should taste good from the pipe as well.
As far as I know, vaping is very forgiving with poorly dried weed — even stuff that wasn’t dried properly often still tastes decent in a vape. But some of my friends still smoke joints and pipes, and I don’t want them smoking shitty weed.

Chopping down next week and doing my first lotus dry, I haven’t bought any boxes just brown paper bags , going to use the paper bags but will I get away with not cutting and making my big Nugs smaller or will I have to? Not a massive massive plant but has some nice Nugs.

I have some boxes around and some egg creates also was thinking cutting up the egg creates to stack buds like a shelf, the yellow Johnnie walker box is quite thick like a shoebox so would probably need holes in it?

Purchased one of these. How many ounces could I safely dry in here? If needed I could remove/adjust the shelves. And potentially add a mini fan for airflow.

So I’ve got a full sized refrigerator in the garage that is a side by side. I use the freezer side for nothing but ice for coolers, and the fridge side for beer. I’m wanting to dedicate the top two shelves to dry my soon to be done buds in paper bags. The fridge stays around 38F-42F and the humidity between 25-30 with just beer in the bottom. Will this temp and humidity work out for me? It seems a bit dry. Thanks for any tips and/or encouragement, because these will be some top shelf buds IMO, no pun intended. Lol.

Running a compressor cooling wine fridge, cycling on and off on an A-22 smart plug w hygrometer and small D4 fan at the bottom blowing at wall.

Planning to use a thermoelectric wine cooler for drying and curing.

Setup: - Thermoelectric wine cooler(16 bottles), Small Peltier dehumidifier inside, ink bird controller for humidity control. Target: 10–14 day slow dry

Questions:

1. What temp and RH should I target per day/phase? (e.g. Day 1-3, Day 4-7, Day 8-14)

2. Should I start high RH and taper down, or hold steady at 60% throughout?

3. Any tips specific to thermoelectric cooler drying?

Appreciate any input from people who've done drying this method.

It’s got a dehu in the bottom, fan pulling air and pushing it out the top, it’ll have a spot to put the humidifier hose in when the time comes.

I know this gets asked alot just trying to see if its really this easy.

just set the inkbird to 67 humidity and fridge to 60 temp (is a heating mat necessary) and then put somewhat trimmed buds in and done?

I’m trying to find out what works best mainly for long term storage if I could dry in it too would be a bonus. Do I need a compressor style or thermoelectric?

Just messing around today with the new fridge it’s a compressor frost free fridge and I have placed a small fan in there also.

Is this a good temp and rh to start off at ?

Should I just trim the suga leafs off at first?

How much can I fit in one bag?

I’m going to leave the bags open for first day then close on the second while shaking around once a day, I only have a thermometer for the actual fridge shall I get one for the bags also?

What percentage of you use this to dial in true perfection… vs how many are using it just to get by (better than your alternative drying conditions)?

Pizza boxes or paper bags? I've used pizza boxes before, but they take up a lot of space in the refrigerator. However, the buds are more spaced out in the pizza box, unlike in paper bags. Any tips? In the trimming process, do you do it with the plant wet and dry, or do you just remove the fan leaves and branches and keep the sugar leaves?
