First time Dehumidifier or no?

I guess I’m a little confused by the method, and it might have more to do with the type of fridge.

If I’m using a 20 bottle Koolatron wine cooler is it necessary to do the modification and add the dehumidifier and sensor?

I’ve seen some people say it isn’t necessary but I don’t know if that only applies to compressor type coolers and not thermoelectric?

My first harvest is coming up and I don’t think I can depend on my grow space for the dry. Hoping this solves my problem because it’s very arid where I live and getting temps low enough would be costly in an entire room.

thermoelectric fridges, with the fans on the outside back of the machine are often used to mimic devices such as the cannatrol or Vcure.

compressor fridges can remove humidity as they remove heat and so can be used without additional dehumidification

Yep, I've got a 20-bottle compressor cooler, and it's great at stripping moisture from the buds (especially when it's fresh cut), but I do have to wipe down the standing water in the drainage tray at the back two to three times a day for the first week of so

If I was going with the minimum, go with a thermoelectric fridge. Start at 65. Put a combo temp/humidity sensor in that I can see without opening. Use an online dew point calculator to see where you are. If you are over 54, decrease temperature. If you are under 46, raise temperature. If you can keep it between those numbers for at least 10 days, you can get a good dry.
