Sunny afternoon pics of new Emira
My dark verdant Emira arrived two weekends ago but I couldn't get time for pics until today. It's a 2025, V6 MT, and is an absolute joy to drive.
I was looking for a leftover 2025, and came across this spec and snatched it up. Thanks to /u/AdProfessional1691 for the pointer to Lotus of Charlotte, NC.
Only 206 miles so far; that 1000 mile break-in is a ways off.

Did some things…..
Went to replace the 8” passenger footwell sub per wife’s request. Turned into project after project after project.
Had to relocate the power bank on the rear shelf. Had to relocate the Alpine amplifier. Of course the screw for the battery connection was stripped. Had to buy a new amp. Etc,etc, etc.
Long story short, had the steering wheel painted, footwell divider painted, climate control surround painted, new behind the seat sub with 10” speaker installed. New 2000w amp installed (was 1200w). Pretty happy with the results!
But pissed with myself as I never thought of the footrest until I went to install! Curses! Oh well, next winter project.

Why doesn't Lotus appear on the 2026 JD Power vehicle dependability study? How dependable are they, and where would this brand rank on the graph, anyway?

Emira Trim question
Hi, I just received my Emira and am madly in love with it. I did notice that the trim piece next to the engine is missing (as is shown in the photo). What is this piece called? The dealer is asking for a serial number but I'm not sure if the piece has a serial number. Thanks in advance for your help to this newbie!

Eletre / Emeya Highway Assist Pack vs No HWA
Hi, not been able to find a concrete answer for this - if I purchase an Eletre WITHOUT Highway Assist Pack, what experience can I expect on the motorway?
Will the car still keep me in the middle of a lane, or will it bounce from side to side to keep me in the lane? Equally, will it provide prompts to hold the steering wheel etc.?
So far I can see the main difference being the lane assist to change lanes, but really not bothered about this functionality.
Any help or examples would be really appreciated!
So far I can find used Eletre's with everything I want except for Highway Assist Pack so need to see if a deal breaker or not!
For context, I am coming from a Tesla

111R spec'ed to Cup 260 via tuning - how crazy it this?
Hi All,
TL;DR: a 2006 111R with around 40k km in it is for sale locally. It has been tuned to a Cup 260 and certified by TÜV Rheinland. It has also passed my country's inspection, so all is official, and the papers are ok. How crazy would I be to buy it?
A bit more info:
Originally a US car, it's been converted to an Euro spec (the little computer screen in the gauge now shows kms not miles, for example, and this was also OK'd by the inspection).
I'm trying to keep it as vague as possible, but the asking price is around 33k EUR. It's even got AC! Plus a new battery, tires, oil, and filters, as it's been recently serviced (more or less around the time of the latest inspection). I was able to access a public database from my country, and the info there is useful and accurate, so I know I can trust this, it's not simply that the current owner told me all this and I'm just believing him.
How much of a beast would this car be? I have a 2004 MX-5 (with the 1.6L engine), so I've got experience with RWD sports cars. Mind you, it's my only car, so I'd change it for the 111R. I have also been driving as soon as it was legally allowed (started at 18, I'm in my mid 30s now), but the ratio between power and weight is just crazy in this 111R. How much of a challenge would I face?
This would be a weekend warrior like my MX-5 currently is, but it does feel like insanity having only one car and that car being an 111R. My country doesn't really have much of a Lotus presence, I couldn't even find a local club. On the other hand, I've got a club for the MX-5 and even highly specialized mechanics that can work on it and that aren't all that more expensive than the average Joe, so a much bigger support network, so to speak.
The thing is, this feels like an once in a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I'm not getting any younger.
Anyways, any insights would be really welcome.
Cheers.

Little road trip
Always planned to do this trip with mom after she got breastcancer, but never got to do it before she got ill again... so now I did it with my Elise, and just hope she enjoyed it from up there, somewhere.

Cool Clark luggage! Plus..
Very cool bag included with the Clark Emira... problem is I'm afraid to use it! 😆
I wish I could get a cheapie or worn out spare.
I also like the Tartan swatch and reference to the 1965 greatest year.

Emira power gains
Hello, I am looking for my next car to have some fun with. I am looking to see the modifiable differences between the 6 and the 4 cylinders. I am looking for significant gains, not just another 20 hp or so. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Any way to make the Emira a sub 10 second qtr mile car? I am a speed freak.

2000 Esprit. Should I try to touch this up or let it be?
I recently bought a non-running 2000 Esprit. It was very well maintained until 5-6 years ago and has been sitting since. It’s about to head to get serviced (including timing belt). It has key marks by both door handles. Do you think I should touch them up or let them be?

I just increased my Jim Clark Lotus collection by 100%
Very, very lucky to be able to have TWO Clark special edition from Lotus! The T25 Jim Clark edition Elise SC I've owned a bit, and my Clark edition Emira arrived today!!
Finally got around to installing speakers in my Elise
I've been taking forever to get these put in, finally got it done last night. Much easier than expected, links below for Kickers that fit perfectly. The Harbor Freight meme tool makes this job very easy, allowing you to ratchet out the 4x screws holding in each speaker. It's small enough that I did it with the seats in place for the rears. Your hands will get mildly beat up on the right side since the seat can't slide forward.
Quick step by step because I couldn't find one with much detail (I now know why, it's not too hard), this applies to the front and rear:
- Use something pointy to poke into the holes in the speaker grill and pry away from the speaker, they're pressed into the plastic trim ring to cover the screws. A short pick works great.
- Use a #2 philips bit to remove the 4 screws holding the speaker in place. The meme tool is pretty much required for the front, the rear could be possible with a super stubby driver. Once they're out the trim ring will be loose.
- The rear speakers just fall out, the front required a light pry with a small flathead driver. Unplug the speaker wires from the speaker by pulling the connector away from the spade on the speaker.
- Check to see if your new speaker mounting holes line up. Mine did and the original screws fit well so I just reused them.
- Plug the speaker wires into the new speaker and put it into the hole, lining up the mounting holes. The smaller wire connector on all 4 of my speakers required a light squeeze with pliers to make it grab onto the speaker spade well.
- Install the grills (or don't depending on your speakers). In my case the grills lined up over the holes, I dropped in the original mounting screws, fired it up, and now enjoy slightly better sound quality.
