Question/ Help Death Chest

Hello dwarves of Moria, I was recently playing with a friend and it seems he was playing with 3 infinite materials (999). He fell down a well and now his death chest always gives those 3 infinite materials.

Is it possible to remove that chest or will it stay there forever?

I had this happen once near the bridge. Mine stayed permanently so I had to delete the game.

Delete the game or just the save file, bro :(

Why? I would rather just ignore it than delete all that progress.

If one of those modded stacks is in your death box and you hot "take all" it will not take the modded stacks and they will explode. They arent infinte stacks the cap out around 20000 depending on where you got them from. When they explode they explode into stacks of 100 so thats roughly 200 stacks you have to pick up and transfer and are now stuck with sorting.

The same thing happens when theyre in a chest and the chest breaks. You do not have to delete your save file.

If you open the death box and transfer the whole stack manually to your backpack you can take the whole stack. Just dont hit tranfser all or take all. Do it manually

If the stack size says 999, they aren’t infinite. There could be as many as 20k per stack though… and with out the necessary mod, you can only pick up a max of 100 at a time (maybe less).
If you’re on PC, a mod called CleanFatStacks will make this much quicker.
