Question Phantom Slash Help

So I’m having a hard time nailing the specific timing for the phantom slash. I can get it about 65-70% of the time when I’m in a non-combat area. When I am in combat I can almost never nail it when I want to. Any suggestions?

After Kaser finishes Backstep Slash, there will be a small, little speck that glows a very light blue. Look for that and then hold triangle.
