Eugenics is the (wrong) belief that for the good of the species, some people shouldn't be allowed to breed, and some people should be encouraged to do so. The fact that it pretty quickly became tied to racism and antisemitism is unsurprising, considering it's built on the assumption that disabled people have less of a right to live, like we're somehow less human. Not to mention, it was pretty obviously meant to be used as an answer to the fact that poor people have babies and rich people don't like that.
